Cinderbike Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 I'm building a set right now in LDD, but the bumper on the trucks I've build are one stud lower than what appears to be the standard (what the production sets seem to do). So, my cars wouldn't be able to hitch to the Emerald Night (or other trains) without modifications, but I am okay with that... Is there anything wrong with this, or should I redesign the model? Quote
Fuzzylegobricks Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Well if you want to fix it you can have technique pieces and trailer hitches and they should work, also if you plan on having it stay I think thats fine. because they will still stick just not as strongly and certain speeds n the remote will make them de-hitch. So I hope ive given you some things to think about! Keep thinking. Quote

One plate or one brick lower? The only concern I would have is if you will have enough clearance with the track. You need to be able to clear the top of the rail so your cars wont foul on crossings and switches. The buffer with the plow used on the Emerald night and yellow cargo train has very little clearance to start with, so I wouldn't be lowering those. Quote

I suppose I'll find out in person soon enough, parts ordered and on their way. Quote
