Out of Sight Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 What do people think of the 8265 as iv heard poor reports about it and also is it hard get all the power functions to work on it like above?i think its a nice set and not too expensive ether! I'm thinking of getting the 8265 as well...would be a good companion for the 8043 It's almost half the price. But I wonder if the late production 8265's that are on store shelves already came with the updated LA's like the 8043? I've seen some vids on youtube, the M-motor seems struggling just to live the main shovel arm on the 8265. But this won't matter if you decided to use the manual cranking using the black knob with your finger. But having owned the 8043, I've sworn to equip my future technic sets with PF. So much realism and you can observe the mechanisms better while they're doing their job. Quote

I've added the PF upgrade to mine (cranking by hand will kill you muscles) and it works great with the old LA's. I see no reason to wait for any kind of upgrade. Quote
rien Posted December 15, 2010 Author Posted December 15, 2010 The L.A's on my 8265 work's fine. But also i addet oil there aswel. Quote

In holland i know where to get it but in ierland i dont know. I use a 3 cell li-po battery. But the first step is to make the ultimate model (by jurgen krooshoop) and then you add the other power sourge. And oil on every gear you see and dont see ;) Specialy here the dual stage planetary gear reduction i just drip it in the holes on the top of the engine. After a couple drips you can here the inprovment ! Edited December 22, 2010 by rien Quote

rien Posted January 6, 2011 Author Posted January 6, 2011 Very nice, what is the clicking noise when the arm goes fully extended , is this much power making gears slip? no that is the end of the L.A (clutch)he has not built jurgens model yet so original controls Quote
davidmull Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Mine don't click at the end , why is this? They just stop Quote
davidmull Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 It's not low voltage cause with new batteries it never done it,maybe it's the new la,s Quote
rien Posted January 6, 2011 Author Posted January 6, 2011 is possible maybe he stil has old ones i wil ask him about it i never go so far to the end so didnt noticed Quote
rgbrown Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 It's not low voltage cause with new batteries it never done it,maybe it's the new la,s It's just the gearing of the 8043 means that the motor stalls before the clutch slips. Plug a motor directly into your LA, run it to its limit, and you'll experience the delightful sound for yourself Quote
