Selander Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Below my new SCANIA and MAN-trucks with fully functional hooklift and container. I tried to make the hooklift look as realistic as possible, but of course you have to take into account the limited scale I use. Container is built up-side-down to get that smooth rounded shape in the bottom as I wanted. A bonus is that hinge tile for train gate can be mounted on top, to allow a "free flow" when opened. Normally I fit wider rear wheels, but that had to be sacrificed to fit the hooklift mechanism, which demands 4 studs of the width. Mechanism runs on tiles and just over I have plates with door rail so that the movement is controlled in all directions, allowing it only to travel from front to back and vice versa. Any comments are welcome as usual. Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 What a combo SNOT job 'Selander'......beautiful and the hooklift really works like a real one ! Also the fact the rear of the container opens to - excellent ! 'Selander' you have out done yourself again and keep on trucking ! Quote
MightySlickPancake Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Nice. I am not very good at making cars and trucks myself but I do apreciate a good moc when I see one, and I'm seeing one. Great work . Thanks, CB Quote
greg3 Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 They look brilliant!! I love the design of the containers especially and the details on the trucks (I've never been able to make decent vehicles) is spot on... nice work!! Quote
buddy Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Excellent MOCs Selander! The containers and the hooklift mechanism are designed particularly well. I also like the overall look of the trucks, and the colours used compliment the trucks brilliantly. Very well done. ~buddy~ Quote
Legostein Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Hello! It's a great idea to do the containers studs-down to get the curves on the bottom edges. A very realistic representation. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
dr_spock Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Excellent work on the trucks. MAN vs Scania. Who's going to win? Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 I really like the very clever reverse SNOT build of the container, coupled with the hooklift functionality. Impressive work Selander! Quote
