Looks very cool. I like ther train yard with all the, uhm, trains :grin: Some new baseplates would be needed to make it look more lego-ish, in my opinion. Great work!

Thanks...i now... i should add extra buildingplates...but i would need 84 pieces of the darkgrey 16x32 plates... and that would cost me approx. Eur 350,- anyone got 84 cheap pieces for me?? Green plates are a lot cheaper, but it would still be about Eur 200,-

I made a nice Youtube film of my City...have a look !!

I love your layout! I can't wait until I can redo my basement to allow for some room for a Lego layout. Right now I setup and breakdown in the livingroom, which doesn't sit well with my wife. I want to have a dedicated table in the recroom to do my town.

Have you considered any of the modular buildings like Cafe Corner, Fire Brigade, Green Grocer, Grand Emporium for your layout? I think some large downtown buildings would just add to your town.

Hello Locutis, thank you for your enthusiastic reply, it makes me glad te hear that you like my city! I did consider the modular buildings but till now i didn't buy one, because it is quit a lot of money at one time...I know, i spent a lot of money on all the other sets, so why didn't i buy modular houses, i hear you think..but.. it till now....i just didnt do that...

Maybe next year i will buy modulars, because i'm not expecting too much from the city 2011 sets.... police and space....are not those items i'm waiting for right now... so... lets wait and see....

BTW i have made already some new video's!!

Great city LegoSjaak! I recently subscribed to you on YouTube (87Watchman). AFOL I'm guessing. I like how you have hung low flying aircraft (LFA). A suggestion if I may: I use 5 pound fishing test line to hang my aircraft. It has held my planes and helis for 14 years now. I just fed each strand thru and i-hook looped one around the front and one around the rear of the plane. Not only are they almost invisible they are stong, as they are intended on catiching fish. Another bonus is that the 5lb lines are thin enough to slip in between the small gap two side by side Lego elements so they cant slip off. I only have aircraft prior to 2006, before they became much larger, but I'm sure 5 pound would be sufficient enough for your larger aircrafts. I don't think your giant jet 7893 exceeds the weight limit, even if it was held by only one single stand. Let alone 4 (2 looped). Anyway, again great job on your city! BTW How many of the new 7939 cargo trains do you have? I thought my three were alot!

Leg Godt Gud, thanks for your advice....i'm considering to hang the planes with fishingline, but i have to search for the line in my garage... maybe i will find something. I have in fact only one 7939 cargo set, but i bought a lot of separate cars and locs from someone in the neighbourhood who has bought over 20 sets, just to resell cars etc.. I now have 3 octanwagons, 6 containerwagons, 2 yellow locs, 1 red loc and 3 trucks with extra yellow containers. I also have 2 of those green cranes..

This weekend my second station 7937 arrived and i make 1 station of 2 7937 sets.... hope it looks good and not overdone.

I also got 8 baseplates 48x48 studs in grey, just to put under the cargo/track layout...now there are wooden plates, but that doesn't look very lego-ish.... indeed i'm an AFOL.....but that wouldn't surprise you...

I also get an Toys R Us truck from the guy who delivered met the extra 7939 cars...... so next weekend i can build a blue truck.. It was very cheap at the TRU shop in Duisburg, that is near the Dutch border with germany.. Every second set with 50 % off...so 2 TRU trucks for only 45 Euros...that is cheap!!!

Those are a heck of a deal!! I purchased 1 Toys R Us truck just to have it for its rarity. Always wanted more but the price is a little to high at $45-55 USD. :hmpf_bad: I wish I knew someone other than ebay buying sets in bulk and parting them. I do a little of that w that Cargo Train 7939 but always run into trouble when it comes to the PF engine as I have yet to set add RC tracks. No room for them but have begun starting a collection for later expantion. 9V is just getting too expensive! Oh well keep on brickin, cant't wait to see more of your photos/movies
