David85 Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 I went to the Lego Store that isn't more than an hour away, normally 45 minutes, left at 3:30 got there at 6. The traffic was going 4 miles an hour, and it was crazy, it is Thanksgiving but after getting to a certain exit it should have cleared, nope. Good news no one goes to the mall two days before black Friday, and I went into the Lego store, saw some new Lego pens, very nice fire one and a police one, and then I saw the new sets. One of each left and I fout them. The Pick a Brick was the same and I didn't need anything from it. The boxes are so kiddie "Biuld the set in sets for easy biulding" something lame like that. When I was a kid I wanted to take a long time because it was fun. What is the point of biulding Legos if you don't want to take the time to biuld them? More on the sets after I open them. :) Quote
Orlego Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 Your store had the new Police sets? We have yet to get them in. I really want that new police van. Quote
Orlego Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 Damn, you were talking about the pens right? Next time I will read the post twice and try not to post when I'm tired. Quote
David85 Posted November 25, 2004 Author Posted November 25, 2004 LOL Just the two Fire sets. I think these sets are like the "Sneak Peak" of the City sets. Some very odd things. The fire station has some odd pieces. The top piece of the fire car is printed on and not a sticker, but there are two yellow shields that have stickers. There is a 1x1 tile and you need to stick a sticker too it. So megablock. There is nothing on the second floor, and it isn't even closed off all the way. Lots of cool axes and things. The oddest thing has to be the back of the car that comes with it, right above the back lights there is a HP water foset. There are a lot of new pices in the sets, some freaky like the front and back of the car, but I can't even desribe that piece. The set also has like 10 1x1 slopes, and the fire truck has the same. The boxes are so huge and megablock through, and these megablock girls gave me looks because the Lego bag was huge. Girls suck. Quote
jonfett Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 I have not seen the new sets in the UK yet. We will probably get them after christmas. Does this station come with the light up minifig? I am sure we saw this on the box. And, did you get any of the new slope pieces? These looks so nice, I want to see what they are like in real. Hope you had fun building the sets. Jon. Quote
David85 Posted November 25, 2004 Author Posted November 25, 2004 Nope no light up that i noticed. The slopes are cool, they are 1x3 with no stud on top, but there is that 1x1 indent, it could be useful for space of the overhang of a biulding. And the thing around the wheel is one pice, so there has to be a different piece for the police car that only uses a half a one. Quote
Vader Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 Any chance of you doing some pics for us david??? Quote
Wolf04 Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 Nope. Then I'm having doubts that you really do have the set(s). 8-| Quote
David85 Posted November 26, 2004 Author Posted November 26, 2004 Nope. Then I'm having doubts that you really do have the set(s). 8-| Poor poor newbie.... I do have the sets, they are at the Lego Stores in the USA. Because you are new you don't know that I don't have a camra or anything. What you see is what you get, except for one little part that they forgot, there is no hole in between first and second floor. And then there is that funky piece that just gets me. There are 5 computers in it, very nice. What you want to know? I can answer any questions. Quote
Orlego Posted November 26, 2004 Posted November 26, 2004 Thanks for the review David. I would by the fire truck and take pics for everyone but with Christmas coming I don't have the money right now. I will try to take pics of the boxes on the shelf. The boxes are huge (Jack Stone *Megablock* like). I would think Lego would cut box sizes to save money. Then I'm having doubts that you really do have the set(s). Then you would be wrong. The two fire sets are available at the US Lego Stores. My store has the fire sets, just waiting on the police sets to arrive. Quote
David85 Posted November 26, 2004 Author Posted November 26, 2004 The Police sets will probably come after Christmas along with the rest of the line because there is still the Fire helicopter and little car to come out. Quote
