Spam? There is such a thing as ASCII art which was quite popular amongst the old BBS (Bulletien Board Systems) that existed before the Internet. The bandwidth was so slow it would take too long to transmit graphics so instead images were generated from characters... We'll probably have rename the thread though...

Check out this website for more complex examples of ASCII Art. These are still quite basic as true ASCII Artists could generate colour images which depicted entire scenes with detail. Someone else can hunt down a website with those.
