I was thinking. (Always a mistake)

Has there ever been a "dojo" set? That is, a Martial Arts themed town set. I know there was a Ninja line and I wish I'd been into LEGO at the time as I reckon I'd have enjoyed that.

Its like every town has some sort of Martial Arts school now so it makes sense.

If not, my idea:

Small, one storey building. No roof (for playability / access). Maybe of wooden appearance. Floor a distictly different colour to the wall so it looks like mats are down. Maybe border to the mats that's near to the same colour as the walls. Several minifigs, all dressed in dogis. Belts can be printed on. A Hakama for the Sensei is probably going too far. All could have different hair (tied back, obviously), different facial expressions, be different genders or races. Sensei could look different, for example by wearing black compared to the others' white. Katanas / staffs on the wall. A small Kamiza on one wall. Soem scrolls or certificates also on the wall.

What do we all think? Shall I pitch it to LEGO?

Nope, never been a set like this. Unfortunately while it sounds fun, I doubt it would happen now

Also, you can add a removable roof for when you're not playing with it. And I'm thinking tan walls with brown floors, and maybe some color flat panels on top of a small area of the brown floor to make it look like a mat.

I like the idea but unfortunatly I think it will never happen ;-) (Since when TLC offers us what we want :-P )

I was in my dark ages when the Ninja theme was released and I would love to have something similar, and the Dojo idea would help putting this culture in todays occidental modern societies ;-)

I would love some Kimono MFs and Kendo armour, Japanese symboled flags on the wall, a zen table with Katana "holder"... (my apologies on my lack of "dojo" vocabulary ;-) ).

Dark red inside walls with a tan floor would look nice !!

Great idea. I was thinking of an extra storey (removable) where the Sensei could rest or meditate or someting after classes, I know that you were talking about Dojo i was just saying

That's a great idea. There's a Martial Arts building about a block away from my house, and I think something like it in Lego form would look really cool. I highly doubt TLC would make one though. Maybe someone could MOC it?

Maybe someone could MOC it?

I was going to. Only problem is time (like, not enough of it). I think it'd be fairly easy to do. Only thing is, bodies with Gi's on them.

I think just using this.

with white legs, and hips of various colors for belts would work well enough. You could just ignore the belt that's on now...

That's a pretty good idea. I was thinking it would be just regular white torsos and legs, with different hip colors for the belts.

Can you seperate legs from hips? Not something I've ever tried to do. That would certainly solve that problem and make for interesting combinations in MOCs.

I'll give you another useful tip... you can seperate heads from bodies! X-O

That would work. Yes, need to ignore the belt. And the black trim would make it look like Taekwondo rather than anything Japanese. So it becomes a dojang rather than dojo set. And Katanas become irrelevent. But kick pads and smash boards become part of the set.

I've read somewhere that its possible to use nail polish remover to remove patterns from bricks. I'm thinking that with precision, maybe that figure could be modified.

Off topic, I'm wondering if this is possible with the Jedi Starfighter (ROTS version) as I want to make Darth Vader's from post ROTS and the Bendu symbol would need to be removed. Oh, and the octagonal flags don't yet come in black!

Yes. I do it all the time.

This is an interesting idea, but I don't think LEGO would do it. It would 'inspire violence'. |-/

Yeah. Most of my hips only allow me to take off one leg. Maybe i'm not strong enough, a Dojo centre could give me some tips.

So striking down folks with Lightsabers, shooting cuddly little bears and destroying planets isn't violent? And that's just one theme!

Lego? Inspiring violence? That's crazytalk!

*goes to equip two of his thugs with Official Lego tommyguns*

LoL. Your funny, but if you'll excuse me, I have to go kill some dinosaurs (none around - no problem - plenty of other animals in my neighbourhood) with my humvee(has a gun)(some Suburban Parents actually own a "Fire Hammer" of their own) combat Helicopter (has many guns), and tank (essentially one large gun).
