Its a fantastic movie, although jeremy Fisher should have used a tripod of somesort to keep the camera from continuously moving. It almost made me sea sick! The story was obviously nothing...I was hoping for something that contained a story, nonetheless I enjoyed it. It was definantley nice to see that BSB get shot (Don't get me wrong im a pirate myself) its just that the visual effects were superb. Thank you for sharing Captain Roger!

Ha, that's great! I rather liked the shaky camera effect as it added to the sense of being aboard a moving ship. Those effects are also fantastic! My favorite voice is the red bearded fellow, but they were all nicely done.

I found this to be a quite entertaining animation and I think the techical flaws (if you can call them that) actually added to the atmosphere rather than diminish it. I'll have to watch it a couple more times before I can give a decent evaluation and response but I found this animation to be quite inspiring, inspiring me to perhaps make something similiar one day.

The only thing didn't really like about it was the American accents. I just don't think it really suits the genre even though one could argue that there were American pirates.

I agree, but I liked the Govenor's assistant... (forgot the rank...)

God Bless,

Of course you could Sir Dillion! You'd need to spend a lot of time and have much dedication to succeed however, so it would have to be something you'd really really really want to do. Or maybe I'm just being too optimistic for a change...

I love it *wub* Die pirate scum DIE!

I think it's an animation well done. Especially I think the cannons firing is extremely well done.

Well, if you put it that way...

Still, it's not really something I want to put my time and money into right now.

Time and money... Two critical factors which prevents me from doing a lot of things. One day I hope to rectify the apparent deficiencies in these areas, but for now I'll just have to accept and embrace them. Damn I write a lot crap! It figures though... I'm in graphic design class right now working on a project and its so damn boring I've just got to post here to break the monotomy of the task...

Hey, this was a cool video.

I found the voice acting to be quite amusing!

Anyone know how many frames a movie this length would probably have?

:-D That was great, made me laugh. It makes me want to get some more pirate sets and make an animation. Anyone have any idea how he used the plastic wrap to make the waves?

Jacob C. me and my friends use to make stop motion animation and it would take us about 100 pictures (with deleting the bad ones) to make a movie that was only a 10 or 20 seconds long, so it probably took this guy roughly 1000? not sure. But definately alot.

There are computer program that allow you to capture images directly in sequence (the name of such software escapes me at this very minute) to save you gather hundreds of images into a video editing program. However, I have used zero of them so I cannot say how good they are.

To make an animation of this nature someone needs to first build everything they want to animate.

Next they must pain stakingly take an image of each frame which involves moving everything slightly between each frame to create the illusion of movement. Animations are generally 10 to 15 frames per second so one minute is between 600 to 900 images.

The final step involves organising each of the images in video editing or animating software which can render the images as a video file. These days there is software designed for the specific purpose of making stop motion movies, although I haven't used any of the programs so I can't really comment on how much easier they make the process.

My first response was going to be "Since it has no sound, it sounds really cool with Pirates of the Caribbean music looped in the background!"

Then I realised my YouTube sound was muted, so I turned it on and...

Got more Pirates of the Caribbean music :P

Anyway, for Legos, I think it is VERY well done animation. The monkey stealing his hat was classic!

Lord Admiral Helden Ravensburg, you beat me too it, I was just going to point out that awesome Pirates of the Carribean sountrack, one of the greatest movie sountracks I have heard, I burnt a copy from the real one when rented it from my public libary a couple months ago. :-D

Yep, might have known I'd find a post with all those entries regarding that movie... it was damn good! Serves the pirate scum right for attacking Fort Eldorado!

Any other links to other animated lego pirate movies... there are loads on youtube but the words lego, pirate and animation only bring up so many results.

Now, here is Mr. Critique. This film is good, no doubt. Story and dialog is very good. Music is applied well. Cannon fire and and water was done very well. My only complaint is the animation. Very jerky, and sometimes a tad annoying.

Total, I give this film a 8/10.
