Joey Lock Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 (edited) The One. The Only. Jason Salkey! a.k.a. Rifleman Harris from 'Sharpe'. And last but not least, An Autograph! Sorry, I just thought I'd share that with you Edited August 31, 2010 by Joey Lock Quote
BrickPerfection Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 Nice pictures, but it took me quite a bit to load them with my internet connection (and that isn't exactly a slow one!), so you better reduce the file size. Please. It seems you can't completely believe your luck on the first picture - big smile! Quote
General Redwater Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 It's him! Any actor from the Sharpe series is famous to me, but you actually met rifleman harris. He's been one of my favorite characters since he figured out the French code in "Sharpe's sword" I'm certainly glad that you were able to meet him. - General Redwater Quote

It was him! Not a very flattering site...He was making a cup of tea. But still, It was Jason! I said "Excuse me, Could I take a picture?" "Yes, of course, I will take as many pictures as you want but I request you buy a photo and I will personally sign it for you. That's my rules." "Oh wow, Great!" "So you can choose anyone, these photos were taken with my personal camera, Yes, During the filming of the show I was rather into taking some photographs of the set during the scene breaks. Heh Heh." "Well they are great photos (Said my dad)" "Oh thank you." "So you these photos were shot in diffrent countries is that right?" "Oh yes, In some episodes we flew all the way to Portugal to film one single scene." "Wow." "Can I please have this photo?" "Yes of course, Erm, Who should I make it out to?" "Oh Laurence, Laurence Ferrett" "And that is you?" "Yes." "Oh what a good name, Wheres my pen..My pen..My...Aha, I have my pen don't I..It's in my bloody pocket, Gah, I'm getting old Haha" "Tooo...Laurence....Niicee..tooo...meeet...you...Harrisss. There you are, Now let me just get a envelope." "There is a leaflet in there with my website, email and such so you may keep in contact. And it also has information on some notes I wrote whilst on the show, about my life during filming which I hope, In future, may turn into a Book, But only time will tell, eh?" "Oh thank you" "So Lets go take these pictures shall we? Erm, Lets stand over here by this photostand so we can get a shot of some of the cast members aswell" "Ok, Taken, Thank you" "Oh why don't we do a close up as well? Just to get your moneys worth! Haha." "Well thank you so much, It was great meeting you." "You are very welcome *Hand shake*" "Well thank you again! Goodbye" "Good bye!" And that was it, I walked off with a huge smile on my face looking at the Autograph. Quote

RPupkin Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 (edited) That is pretty cool mate. What was the event? Massive fan of the series myself, pretty much ignited my interest in history (that and playing with lego of course. Here is a site about the show in general and it has some of his video diaries/stories he mentioned to you. On the site is a pretty cool pic of the guy who was set to play Sharpe originally too, pretty werid seeing someone other than Sean in the green jacket. My link Edited August 31, 2010 by RPupkin Quote

On the site is a pretty cool pic of the guy who was set to play Sharpe originally too, pretty werid seeing someone other than Sean in the green jacket. My link It was "Military Odessey" in Kent area, about 10 miles from Chatham Dockyards. It is the largest multi period type re-enactment show int he world. There was a amazing American Civil War skirmish, incredibly loud, real cannons, riflemen, gatling gun e.t.c. It was great. There was also a WWII skirmish but it wasn't planned well, It was supposed to be a Battle of the Bulge battle....In summer. Besides, the troops walked out about 10-20 meters from the US Halftracks and they were supposed to be pretending they couldn't see each other. Also, A Panzer III rushed into the field, shot once at some British commandos, was captured within minutes. I'd prefer to see more from the Panzer. But they had a recon plane swoop down real low into the battle field being shot at by advancing german MG's. And they had a real firing PaK 40 which was amazing. I'll upload some photos in a diffrent thread if I have time or videos on Youtube. Quote
