Recently added to my lego collection the green grocer and the emporium, and i think i have the modular build bug. hopefully i can finish this soon so i can build it :0 Oh and hello fellow brickers Edited August 20, 2010 by amity498 Quote
SilentMode Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Welcome to the show! Excellent MOC so far, I like the use of the five or so colours with the pieces, and not overly fancy building style. Now get building! Quote
lightningtiger Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Keep going it looks great so far 'amity498' - the ground floor is my favorite part of this so far, all the curves are just right to give this a early 20th century feel ! I'm a conformist! 'amity498' I'm a conformist! ! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Pretty good modular building design amity498, not bad for your first LDD MOC. I particularly like the simplistic and clean design. The color scheme works well for me too. May I ask what this building is for - residential or commercial? Welcome to EB and hope to see more of your MOCs here. Quote
The Yellow Brick Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Very nice, Looking forward to seeing the roof and the inside details . Quote
amity498 Posted August 21, 2010 Author Posted August 21, 2010 im still not sure on what type of roof i want to have this building. want it to fit in with the other modular builds so a roof that slopes might be good Quote

amity498 Posted August 22, 2010 Author Posted August 22, 2010 sounds like a good brick to use, then ill add a flat roof and that should finish it off Quote
amity498 Posted August 28, 2010 Author Posted August 28, 2010 (edited) Finally got around to doing the roof, now that everything is in place i'm not 100% sure about the first floor. what you guys think? Edited August 28, 2010 by amity498 Quote
SilentMode Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 I would say match the colours of the two floors, but other than that I still think you did a good job! Quote
Fires-storm Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 I don't know, I actually quite like the differing color on the first floor, I think it blends quite nicely! Also that roof you did is very nice indeed Good work mate, and keep bricking! Quote
Vincent Kessels Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 That is a nice first building. I like the balcony. Did you put stairs in it? I find those always hard to put in because of the size of the building. Personally I would change three things to it. First of all I would remove the black rounded bricks below the ground floor window, because I think the two rounded bricks above each other don't look good. Secondly, I would put a small 2 x 3 window on the first floor. And thirdly, I would add a gutter to the roof. Quote
lightningtiger Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 Very nice....very nice indeed.....simple yet loaded with style ! Now 'amity498' you might won't to build it out of real bricks.....anyway great work and I'm a conformist! ! Quote

I have not done any stairs or interior, I think my next project will include these. I'm currently just working on exteriors and design really, so i can get a hang of building modular buildings. I will be ordering this soon, but not this month as the space shuttle and 1 more set is on the shopping list this month, due to the 20% vouchers i picked up. Quote
