I am actually surprised that there hasn't been one yet, seeing as how there have been 4 Technic/Racer models released under the Ferrari name. So far the only models are 2 block built Gallardo Cars. Not even any minifig scale models either. IMO it seems like a waste of a License. I hope Lego makes good use of the Lamborghini name in the near future. :hmpf_bad:

I agree fully. I'm a big Lambo fan, so I want minifig scale cars and Technic models too. The only thing about minifig scaled, is that Lambo isn't an F1 brand, so they'll have to make detailed versions of city scaled cars, which will be hard.

It's been 2 years since the announcement that Lego had the Lamborghini License and there have only been 2 sets??? I just don't get it. Every other License that Lego had featured muliple sets. I was very excited that we would be seeing some cool Lamborghini stuff, but after 2 years I am pretty dissapointed.

OK, so far TLG has produced these two Lamborghini models:

2009's LEGO Racers 741-piece Set 8169, "Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4": 51gSQNDS96L._SL500_AA300_.jpg

2010's LEGO Racers 801-piece Set 8214, "Lamborghini Polizia": 41sVC0ya89L._SL500_AA300_.jpg

What Lamborghini model would you like to see offered by TLG in TECHNIC? Here are the current 2010 models (from ConceptCarz ):

I am drooling just looking at those pics. :sweet: It is a tough choice really. I also wouldn't mind seeing a classic Lamborghini like a Diablo or a Countach. I did build Crowkiller's Gallardo Model which is just about as good as a real set and hope that his Murcielago has instructions someday, but I really want to see what the Technic designers at Lego can give us. They have to be working on something special. I would also like to see a minifig timeline set with maybe 4 or 5 Lamborhginis from the past 25 years. And if we get a new set from TLC, then we will get some new wheels as well.

Yeah! An all-Orange Lambo would be great!

And preferably with matching Lambo rims - and not just Lambo-style hub caps/wheel covers for the #44772 wheel, pleeeease!

I would like to see a Reventon, even a Gallardo would be great. But I mean - in the end it's Lamborghini, every set would be a must-have.

I'm hoping for 2011..

I agree ... the Reventon would be sweet.

Meh, TLG should give up Lamborghini and go with Cadillac or Buick or Lincoln, whatever, as long as its lo n' slo :D

Howevuh, I must admit that a Murcie SV in the scale of the past two sets, or Lamborghini TTs would be pretty awesome, TLG would probably have to make a new black-tinted cockpit piece if they were to make Lambo TTs. :)

In my opinion Paul really raised the bar with his Gallardo and Murcielago models. I have his Gallardo model displayed in my Lego room and it really does feel like an actual car that I would expect from the Lego company. Like someone said before, I would love to have some real Lamborghini wheels, whether they are just covers or whole new wheels. That Reventon is cool, but also seems kind of Boxey.

Oh, a Technic Lambo would be great. But then it really should have suspension, which the two technic Ferrari's, 8145 an 8653 don't have. And a real Lambo-supercar including gearbox, rotating steering-wheel would be totaly awesome.

I am all for transmissions. But IMO it would be hard to fit a automatic 6 speed transmission into the any car that small. After all that is what most of the Lambos have in them, auto 6 speeds.

Here is crow's new 1/10 scale Murcielago. Where in the heck could you fit a 6 speed automatic in this? TLC would have to go to a larger scale, which would be awesome!!! :sweet:

I've created a car once (the one in my logo) that had a 5-speed gearbox with reverse, independent suspension, all-wheel drive, even all-wheel steering. OK, it was a bit bigger (Scale 1/10 I think). I've got the Gallardo here at hand: by moving the central differential to the left or right side (where is plenty of space) and maybe placing the chairs outward half a stud, I think you could create enough space for a gearbox. And Crowkiller's Murcielago proves that suspension and working steering wheel is also possible. So I believe it can be done, although it won't be easy.

But the Actual car has a 6 speed automatic transmission with reverse. I am not doubting that you can squeeze the traditional 5 speed + R in there, but can it actually be done right with the 6 + R auto? That is what I was talking about. Most of the auto 3 speeds that I have seen were rather large, let alone a 6 speed.

Also, the car that you built is more 1:8 scale. The 8448 SSS was that scale. 1:10 isn't a huge difference in size, but it is smaller.

By the way, your "Wasp" car is very nice.

OK, 6 gear + reverse is even more challenging. This would certainly require the car to be bigger, like for example Sheepo's Bugatti Veyron. This has 7 speeds + reverse remote controlled gearbox. But a 6-speed automatic gearbox would propasbly only be possible using Mindstorms.

I also remember someone saying that the reason why crowk didn't include a transmission in any of these cars was because if he couldn't do it right then he didn't want to do it at all. Or something like that. :classic:

While that gearbox certainly is compact for having 7 gear speeds, I think that it is far too large for a 1:10 car and maybe even a 1:8 scale one. It is about 11 studs high without the shifter and at least 7 wide. It is unique though. :classic:

I would also like to see that transmission in action. Why is that gear offset by a half a stud?

Something about that doesn't quite look right? Or am I mistaken?

That compact 7 speed may be compact width wise, but definitely not height wise. And how can that offset axle and gear work properly?

It's an intersting concept though.

It looks like the universal joint is under stress; pulling the left hand gears down a little. Makes me wonder what else is under stress.

Yes, the front axle is clearly at an angle (lower on the right than on the left) which is bending the axles within their supports. A single universal joint doesn't do any good; you need two of them to allow those axles to sit true in their bearings. This transmission would create a lot of "lego dust" over time when operating.

I have actually visit this guys MOCPages account and saw that there are a lot of descriptions about this gearbox. I can see some people here asking questions about stuff that he actually explains in his post, so be sure to check it out.

I personally have built a modded version of this transmission:

Which is also described on the page. I've managed to fit it in a 599 Fiorino. Looks perfectly normal. It's definitely not too big :)
