AllanSmith Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 A wet day here so I built Mack from Cars with inspiration from Nathan Proudlove's version. Enjoy Quote
hawkyboy4 Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Very nice, it makes some wonder why Duplo has to produce the theme. Quote
LuxorV Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Very well done, AllanSmith. You captured Mack's cheerful essence perfectly! Quote
AllanSmith Posted June 6, 2010 Author Posted June 6, 2010 Mack to the rescue. The LEGO truck has broken down. Must get the LEGO sets to the shops. I have rebuilt the chassis in a similar design to 3221 LEGO Yellow Truck. Also increased the height of Mack's cap. Enjoy some more Quote
Front Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 I really love it, nice truck. You captured the toy story feel with great precision. Quote
Capt. Stabbin Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Looks great! Just like the movie! Well done. Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 AWESOME just simply AWESOME 'Allan' ! You have caught every detail of Mack - SWEET ! Dam fine work again and I'm a conformist! too ! Quote
prateek Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Very nice, it makes some wonder why Duplo has to produce the theme. Agreed. This would be so awesome as a set! Quote
AllanSmith Posted June 6, 2010 Author Posted June 6, 2010 Cool, but why in Town forum?Because I am a Town builder and it goes on my Town layout Quote
AllanSmith Posted June 6, 2010 Author Posted June 6, 2010 Hopefully the final makeover for Mack. Removed air cleaners and gave him indicator lights on the mudguards and some mirrors. Now he looks almost perfect Enjoy Quote
samurai-turtle Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Because I am a Town builder and it goes on my Town layout I would think it would go in the licence theme section. Cool truck anyways. Quote
WhiteFang Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 AllanSmith, this is really very nicely captured. It's not easy to build a vehicle with emotions together. I will move this over to Licensed, since Cars is a Disney Licensed Theme and is part of the recent Duplo range. Quote
Batbrick Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Wow AllanSmith, this is great! I honestly can't think of a single improvement, and I'm quite a nitpicker. I especially love the way you've done the eyes and excited little mouth, a mix of genius and simplicity. I love that there isn't a thousand little details distracting from the character's essence, which you've captured really well. Batbrick Away! Quote
MrTools Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Fantastic work AllanSmith, very nice job, and at the perfect scale. I love the little expression/mouth you did. Keep up the good work. Quote
-JaMMiT- Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Wow this is one of the greatest MOCs i have ever seen Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Job well done AllanSmith! The scale is terrific and spot-on with regular CITY trucks. Maybe you could do the other "Cars" as well? Probably McQueen or Mater? Quote
Flobnomdob Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 I really like this MOC! The brick-built alternative to the now official Mack is much cuter with the studs for eyes and the really smooth look. This is a Mack-MOC, but I'd rather not call this a MOCK because that's insulting Quote
AussieJimbo Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 (edited) Top job, Allan. Totally convincing and instantly recognisable as Mac. It shows they didn't really all need those groovy new printed pieces (not that I don't like them). :classic: Edited September 14, 2011 by AussieJimbo Quote
