jof Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 OK, so I'm not a SNOT expert, but here is my first attempt at an assult frigate in microscale. (I have put in a millenium falcon for scale.) Assult Frigate (Brickshelf) Notice that the stike craft are carried externally, and it sports a large hangar bay to facilitate repairs that is big enough to admit smaller corvette class vessels. Current strike craft complement: 4* Interceptors 2* gunboats 2* bombers 2* repair pods (small craft beneath bridge) & whateve else I can think of to put in the hangar bay I hope the links come out OK as this is first big image I have tried to post. xenologer Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Its nice, but the large transparent 'window' pieces make it seem a lot smaller, almost makes me think of minifig scale. That fighter attached to the side at the rear looks good... have closer photos? Based on the description of all the smaller fighters it supports, are you sure this is a Frigate? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Ship_types enjoy! Quote
jof Posted March 8, 2006 Author Posted March 8, 2006 Ship at the back is this Heavy fighter Its made using bits from mini arc170 set. I wasn't sure what class of ship it was and was sort of basing it on size. I don't think its big enough to be called carrier class Quote
vahkimetru Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 I'm not too good at SNOT either. But I do like it, especially the curved edges on the sides. Can we see the other fighters inside? I liked the first one alot. Quote
xenologer Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 I think your heavy fighter would look a lot nicer if you used one of these: http://media.peeron.com/ldraw/images/39/30602.png for the cockpit window. Quote

I use what components I have available to me. I am already at the limit of my white bricks & I get the kids complaining that I am using all the Lego & they can't build what they want. Quote

OK, due to popular demand I have spent 2 evenings playing with LDraw, even if I can't find the trapeziod flags you'll have to get closest match (you can have the .ldr files if you want, email me) Original Heavy fighter Interceptor Repair pod Alternate heavy fighter Attack Bomber Quote
