Holodoc Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 We had a long break waiting for the other minifigs of the collectible series to pop up, here's what I got when visiting Billund at our event: Setnumber: 8683 Minifig number&name: #11 The Nurse Numbers of different minifigs in series 1: 16 Parts in this bag: 8 Price: 1.99€ per bag Release: May/June 2010 THE NURSE! (actually I didn't really find them in my package, but I traded her (for my cowboy)). These are the 8 parts the nurse consits of. Note that the (printed!) 2x2 tile should be easily recognizable when trying to feel the fig inside. The better way to tell that there's a nurse waiting inside the bag is using this barcode: Let's have a closer look at the pieces: The hairpiece - a new mould! Slightly different (but a lot better) than the older one to the right. The patients chart. I wonder who "Dawes" is. Having talked to the designers, I bet there is a meaning behind this name. SI? Système international d’unités? Silicium? Slowenia? Sports Illustrated? Two (2!) syringes. I have been sooooo waiting for this item! Now turn around, sweetheart: No backprinting. The complete minifig with stand: "Ooh, I had a bad day today, don't even try to argue with me about this tiny needles now!" Here's a comparison to the older medical staff we have so far: Final conclusion: I have been waiting very long for you, dear! I'm seriously in love. Quote
BlueBard Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 This is, definitely, a great one for City lovers, especially with those 2(!) syringes! Thanks for the review, holodoc Quote
legitimatealex Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Too bad that Star Trek doctor is just a hologram. Good review, glad to see we get two syringes. Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 What can I say... Helloooooo nurse! I want 34234892 of her! Quote
Princess Muttonchops Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Great review Holodoc! You and the nurse look very good together. Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Great fig-- love the new hair. Makes the older ponytail look so juvenile and girlish. Coming from someone who owns no hospital-related sets, I'd love to see them really do the sub-theme right in the next few years. Hard not to think there's a new ambulance coming soon. Thanks for the review! Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 It's Nurse's Week here in the U.S., so great timing! She's a nice little minifig indeed. I really like the syringes and the medical record tile. Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 AWESOME just AWESOME these minifigs are getting better and better. Hot looking female nurse with a great pair of .........syringes ! Thanks for the review 'Holodoc' and I'm a conformist! too ! Quote
not-in-use-anymore Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 (edited) There's something about her face... It doesn't seem to have any clear emotion. I was surprised the tile could be easily found. Are the syringes normal plastic? I like this new hair peice, the older one was too long. Edited May 6, 2010 by indianajones Quote
MrCustomizer Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 YES! This was the figure I wanted the most. I think her hair will be good for Padme. :D I also want the Clown (he's cool), the Skater (useful hair), and the Cheerleader (pompons are awesome and hair is useful). ~MC Quote
Piranha Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Ha nice Holodoc! Thanks for the great really in depth review One of the nicer figs too. Love how we get 2 syringes, LEGO does know what people like and want to get extra of As for the barcode, is that for USA or Europe? Quote
peterab Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Nice photos Holodoc, I'm in love too, I want a bunch of these too, even more than cheerleaders :-) I can see the syringes being useful in the grittier parts of my town, probably in conjunction with the skater dude, and maybe some punks with exoforce hair. Redcross Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 I think the nurse is fantastic her chart and syringe are bound to inspire builds of many a medical clinic or hospital across the world. Quote
LuxorV Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Thanks for sharing this review, Holodoc! This is one of my favourites form this series. The up-dated torso, the hair piece (more in line with the recent ones, like Dastan and Tamina's), the syringes (2 of them!) and the patient's chart all make for a simple yet very nice quasi-impulse. Holodoc Posted May 7, 2010 Author Posted May 7, 2010 Are the syringes normal plastic? No, they are made of the softer material. I think it was PC instead of ABS. As for the barcode, is that for USA or Europe? See my flag? It's the Europe's code. And I have no idea if it will be the same in the U.S. Quote
LuxorV Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 See my flag? It's the Europe's code. And I have no idea if it will be the same in the U.S. Unfortunately, they say no: The barcodes presented here are valid only for the bags mentioned first. These are being sold in Europe. The others where found in the USA; unfortunately those have different barcodes. Probably, this is related to the fact that the USA bags, like the normal sets' boxes, will be different from the European ones. LuxorV Quote
Izzy Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 Thanks for the review Holo, I like to see such crispy close up shots of the pieces. It is just me or does her face look a bit tired and a bit "yes, I see there is blood but you WILL live, now sit back down and wait your turn!" Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Thank you very much for this great review, Holodoc! I voted for oustanding since the nurse is for sure one of the best minifigs of the two minifig series: great torso, neat face and hair and syringe. Klaus-Dieter Quote
Brick & Mortimer Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 It is just me or does her face look a bit tired and a bit "yes, I see there is blood but you WILL live, now sit back down and wait your turn!" I noticed it too. It's added realism; even in your LEGO town the medical staff is overworked and undermanned Yet she still keeps on smiling, I bet she loves her work! Quote
Commodore Hornbricker Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Great review. I don't have any yet but I am really looking forward to adding all these minifigures to my collection . Quote
Sir E Fullner Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 Ha ha ha ha ha. Funny. That one picture reminds me of my mom on a bad day. Quote
