I was just wondering if anybody knew where i could buy either 6268 renegade runner. or 6250 cross bone clipper for cheap. Ive checked bricklink and e-bay but these are $50+ there. I understand these are rare sets but $50+ is outrageous for a 171 piece set. Im looking to buy in the range of 15-35 dollars, so if you know where i could find one of these on sale, that would be great.

In the words of Ron Burgendy:

The reason the set is expensive, is because its old and popular. Supply and demand my friend.

I'd be suprised if you saw one for that cheap. But talk to Phes. He's the man in the know when it comes to pirates.

You will not get that ship for that price unless

a) lots of pieces are missing (which is OK if you have the spares)

b) no instruction, no box, chewed up sails and missing men/cannons

c) the seller is an idiot and mis-described it.

As Mattz said: supply and demand.

With compromises you could get it at 35$ if you are a bit patient (wait 2-4 weeks), with no box and minor parts missing. Hopefully the seller won't gouge you on shipping though.

My feeling is this. If you desperately want something..... spend the 10 extra bucks and feel good now. That 10 bucks is 2 cups of coffee (bad for you), a few subway tokens (walk, its healthier), or half a pack of cigs (very bad for you) or a couple of beers (bad for you). You drink em/smoke em, and you got nothing to show for it but pee or a few cells closer to cancer. A beautiful lego set makes you feel good for a long time.

Life is short. Enjoy it.

EDIT: or, if you are not yet of an age when these things apply.... 10$ is a shoveled driveway, or mowed lawn, or two less booster packs of some useless TCG where all you get is a bunch of commons, and... frankly.... barely missed when absent from your mom's wallet :-D

Might I suggest that you build your own ship using bricks and plates and then go read Willy's sail making guide and make your own custom sails. Basic bricks and plates don't cost much if you buy them used and you would be surprised how good you can make something look without all the specialty molds.

Another option is to ask your parents to buy it for you instead of a new video game. They cost about the same but one involves much more imagination and thinking and the other button mashing.

If you want to get more LEGO for a good price go to garage/yard/second hand sales and see what you can find. I once found a nearly complete BSB for $20. It was missing about 30 common pieces but had about half of an Eldorado Fortress included and all the minifigures. You never know you may get lucky.

well i already made a ship recently. I thinks its good, considering this is my first ship, and i really wanted to upload it. However i dont know how, so i was hoping someone could pm me and explain that. Anyway i have the black seas barracuda so i dont need to make custom sails. Also my dad, the only one who buys stuff off the internet for me, wouldnt spend that much for such a small ship. Even if it was a Bday present. :(

Go to Brickshelf, register an account, and the rest should point itself out. But please do try to resize your pictures before uploading them...big ones are so annoying...

How did I miss this topic? Its probably a little late but I'll move to where the Pirate experts can easily locate it.

I'd say eBay is probably the best place to get a Renegade Runner from. Simply create an eBay search which Emails you with daily results for a Renegade Runner. If you set the search up properly so it scans thoroughly and widely, eventually you'll find a decent Renegade Runner which isn't too expensive.

The aim is to take advantage of novice eBay sellers who don't understand how to auction LEGO and thus their auctions receive few votes. Of course this may take between 6 to 12 months because what you save in $ you'll pay for in time.

I recently sold a 6268 Renegade Runner complete with the original instructions (no box) for $50. Average price I think.

A month ago, I received my Renegade Runner from eBay. Took me 23 Euros. Although the sails are in a rather poor condition, there was no box (I don't care about the box however) and some pieces were missing. But that wasn't really a problem because the nice seller sent me all the missing pieces. And I also got a SES for 97 Euro (without box). As long as the condition's good, I reccomend you to go for the lowest price ;-) .

I think I managed to get one for for around US$15 but it missing the sails, mini-figures and some pieces were subsituted. Fortunately I had all the necessary pieces in the spare parts collection to make it complete.

Do I smell a Renegade Runner Pictorial Review coming on? X-D

Ah, yes. I need to get around to watching AnchorMan again.

Anywho-

Unless it's one of the smaller thin-hulled no mid-section ship (Cross-Bone Clipper, Renegade Runner, Etc.) you're not going to get anything for $10-$35

Hey John,

Have you considered purchasing one of the ships that are more rescent that are currently available through lego for $50 each brand new?

They might be cheaper through ebay or bricklink and the discontinued models too for used ones.

The Viking Longboat and The Durmstrang Ship are what i'm talking about.

Then purchase cannons and crew later through bricklink or ebay.
