Zane Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 My 'Licenses' folder on Brickshelf, featuring Spongebob and Avatar sets has been deleted twice. Anyone know why? TT Quote
xwingyoda Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 No clues, maybe for them yhis is considered a violation of their TOS (leaks) hence their deletion !!! Yoda Quote
ApophisV Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Or somebody owning the rights for those pictures asked the BS webmasters to delete them. Quote
chewie Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 What? You mean Eurobricks?TT EuroBricks does not own those pictures, is that what you were asking? Quote
Zane Posted February 7, 2006 Author Posted February 7, 2006 I thought Eurobricks owned the rights or something.... Still, I don't see why they should be removed when they have EUROBRICKS.COM all over them...it's more like advertising the sets and Eurobricks at once. Why can't people just share like before all this legal/politically correct/general pickiness stuff appeared. As Jinzo says - "This world is SO doomed." People are getting all legal and stuff over a few pictures of a CHILD'S TOY. Imagine the future.... TT Quote
snefroe Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 EB doesn't have any copyright unless it's on paper that they do. if lego gave EB pics, then the copyright is still in the hands of lego. that doesn't nessessarily mean lego allows you to distribute them further.. they may have asked bs to take steps... if you've distributed illegal pics than they also could have asked BS to prevent further distribution... Zane Posted February 7, 2006 Author Posted February 7, 2006 I don't understand how that makes any sense. If Lego gave EB pictures from their own free will, and they delete them when they turn up on Brickshelf, why did they not delete the leaked pictures last year? TT Quote
sam89 Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Maybe it's because the pics say Eurobricks.com on them? Because I suppose technically it's stealing to post the pics elsewhere. Quote
chewie Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Is it not possible that the picture was not a leak? Quote
KMOI Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Meh, no clue. To be honest, I don't really find this so mindblowing. It's bound to happen, you know. It happens with Transformers all the time! Well, maybe not all the time, but you get the point. As for removing the Eurobricks pictures, well, EU doesn't own Brickshelf, adn there's no big tie anywhere. We're a community of happy go lucky Eurobrickers, they're a bunch of happy go-lucky image hosters. I mean aside from them being a major image hoster for us, there's no other relation between the two. Or not that I know of... And also, as others have said, things happen. They might not have deleted stuff from last year, but I think they're really cracking down on it now. I mean honestly, the pictures from before were just MOSTLY in BloodyJay's Brickshelf. The new pictures on the other hand, have been redistributed so many times, it's popping up in more than just a few Brickshelfs. Simply put, this isn't a sign of the apocalypse, so just relax and chill out to some mellow tunes. Afterall, stress is bad for the heart. Quote
Zane Posted February 7, 2006 Author Posted February 7, 2006 Heh, okay KMOI. I've credited Eurobricks in the folder description. If they're deleted again the chances are I'll just host them elsewhere. I guess this can be closified now. Thanks for the help guys! TT Quote
