lightningtiger Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 I change my mind on my first post office, I said to myself go Aussie ! I'm trying to get a printer driver so I can sticker the building in Aust. Post logos, trying A.S.A.P. Here is an image of a small Australia Post office..... Comments welcome ! I'm a conformist! ! J1988 Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Nice work! It resembles it even without the logo. Maybe you could have a few P.O. boxes next to it? Also have some grumpy workers behind the counter who are extreme bureaucrats! I know I always encounter them when I go in. Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 31, 2010 Author Posted January 31, 2010 Thanks 'J1988' for your comments. I'm going to try and make some torso stickers as their uniform. I'm a conformist! ! Quote
chibi_joker Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 I really like it! Great to see a unique Aussie theme MOC Quote
Legostein Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Hello! It's very nice! Reminds me to those lovely little shops and houses on 8x16 baseplates which I always like to include in my town layouts. I would have bought this one for my town! Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
Razgriz Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Am I right in thinking the old one was yellow? Looks very efficent with the grey flooring and red highlights! No room for any shenanigans or tom-foolery Got a van to go with it yet? Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Neat little express post - and modern design. I think once you add the stickers/decals to the front. The exterior will look even better. Quote
ImLost Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 The post office looks really good! I like the detail behind the counter. I think it would look even better if you tile the floors, especially the outside pavement. Also, this looks like a good building to make even bigger, with a longer counter, some shelves to sell products and maybe even multiple P.O. boxes. Well done! Quote
Rick Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Nice little shop. Can go straight next to the bike/skate shop and the pizza restaurant from the 'City Corner'. Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 31, 2010 Author Posted January 31, 2010 Thank you everyone who has commented so far. Like I said stickers are going to be printed today (hopefully). I was trying to design a modern and up-to-date copy of this...... ...and this..........but of an Aussie one though. A comment was made on a van, the answer is yes....I will be designing a van within days....stay tuned. I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Selander Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Nice work "Tiger"....I like the idea of building things from your surroundings, so look forward to see more designs showing typical buildings/vehicles/trains etc from the Australia Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 31, 2010 Author Posted January 31, 2010 Thank you 'Selander' for your comments, everyone likes it. Another Aussie style building is the hardware store which I updated last night (S.A. time) as well, it's a Mitre 10 hardware store (also waiting on stickers). On the drawing board, an ANZ bank, a Foodland supermarket (only a small one though) and hopefully what every country town needs ......a......PUB !!!!! I'm a conformist! everyone ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 1, 2010 Author Posted February 1, 2010 Finally got the printer running ! Comments welcome ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote
peterab Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Finally got the printer running ! Looks really good with the stickers LT. I'm a conformist! as someone says so often Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 1, 2010 Author Posted February 1, 2010 Thank you 'Peterab' for your kind comment. Really I'm a conformist! now !!! P.S. please check out the Mitre 10 I sticker up today too, under New Mannum's NEW Hardware Store. Quote
J1988 Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Wow the stickers look great! I wonder if LEGO would ever do an exclusive line of city that would be based on specific countries. I'm sure some of the big banks would be more than happy to give out free LEGO sets of their bank to little kids to try and build loyalty (like those Dollarmite accounts!). Quote
jonwil Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Nice job on the post office, now you need to make an Australia Post van to go with it :) Quote
AllanSmith Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 On the drawing board, an ANZ bank, a Foodland supermarket (only a small one though) and hopefully what every country town needs ......a......PUB !!!!! Build this pub. I have been to it Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 1, 2010 Author Posted February 1, 2010 Thanks 'Jonwil' and 'AllanSmith' for commenting. Yes 'Jonwil' I'll be working on a van today. And 'AllanSmith' - that would be cool to do as a modular - car on the roof and all - including the dog ! That would be an awesome build, might take a while to do LDD first......a long while ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Princess Muttonchops Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Wow, great MOC lightningtiger, it's like you got a post shop and shrunk it down! It makes my heart swell with national pride...er hem, please excuse me a moment (sniff, blows nose). The printed logos are just perfect. If you make Ettamogah Pub, I may just pass out from bliss...I loved that cartoon as a kid...ah, good times Quote
lincolnwho Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 I change my mind on my first post office, I said to myself go Aussie ! I'm trying to get a printer driver so I can sticker the building in Aust. Post logos, trying A.S.A.P. Here is an image of a small Australia Post office..... Comments welcome ! I'm a conformist! ! This is brilliant mate , looks like a TLG set, really good work, I love MOCs this size and have some this size in my town , with my daughter being more able to move them around and set them up to her hearts content , but still big enough to get some great playability which imo is what Lego is all about. I'm to old to get away with playing Lego any other way Quote
sebby Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 (edited) Looking good mate. And I love the grey and red colors, and the stickers really make it pop Edited February 3, 2010 by sebby Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 4, 2010 Author Posted February 4, 2010 Thank you for your kind comments 'Walrus Keeper', 'Lincolnwho' and 'Sebby' ! I have started work now a Australian Post van, so stay tuned and I'm a conformist! ! Quote
sens1992 Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Nice little post office Lightningtiger. Not too big, not too small. It reminds me of the LEGO town sets of my youth (1980's). Good job! Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 5, 2010 Author Posted February 5, 2010 Thank you again 'Sens1992' for your kind comments. The postal van is still on the cards, just the sparky truck got in the way (now a menswear store) I'll build it A.S.A.P. ! I would like to other post offices from around the world be MOCed among other buildings too. I'm a conformist! everybody ! Quote
