Favorite Lego set types

I believe that the word you're looking for is THEME. And did you make sure that there's not a topic about this already? It seems like the sort of broad question that would have been asked before.

In any case, I find it difficult to pick certain themes as a favorite, because they almost always have really good sets right alongside really bad sets. And there are some, like classic pirates, or Bionicle, which just span such a long time and so many sets that it's really almost impossible to compare them with shortlived themes like, say, Dino Attack (which had some cool sets, but just isn't in the same class of theme as either mentioned).

I guess that I would have to say that my favorite theme is Indy. I love the movies, and all of the sets were worthy interpretations. It's about the only theme where, if I had enough money, I would buy every set from every wave, just because I like them all that much.

My two favorite themes are Lego Pirates and Lego Star Wars.

But in the Star Wars sets, I prefer the Classic Trilogy ones, cause it's more related to my childhood. And personally, I'm not very interested by the Clone Wars storyline.

It's the same for the pirate sets. I prefer the older ones to the new line. Even that there's a lot of new elements in the 2009 pirates sets, I prefer the old stuff cause it is more significant to me.

I know that the 10210 Imperial Flagship is amazing compared to his predecessor. But I think I would buy the 6274 Carribbean Clipper instead of those.

Currently Power Miners, though I wish Exo-Force had never ended. From my kiddiehood, I have very fond memories of Blacktron II.

I tend not to go for licenced sets due to the expense, but I have gotten three Toy Story ones and the Indiana Jones motorbike chase set. I have no full Star Wars sets, but several small promo ones that came free with a newspaper last year.

I prefer to buy vehicle sets rather than scenery. It's a balance I need to redress, my MOCs tend to suffer for it.

Well it's no contest for me.

I find it hard to choose, because nearly all themes have elements that I wish to use when I build. My main interest at the moment is Castle and Pirates, but I also really like City. But I also like Adventurers (for the MiniFigs), Indy, Atlantis, some Power Miners and Space Police, and im really looking forward to Prince of Persia. The only theme that I dont like is Agents, and I have not bought any Star Wars even though I like some of the sets, because I know that 'a few sets are never enough', and once you start buying its difficult to stop!

So my favourate theme is deffinetly one of the 'evergreens', maybe Castle, might be Pirates, possibly City... it depends on how im feeling that day!

My favorite themes would have to be Pirate, Castle, Ninja and Western. I will get into random themes at random occasions, but the ones listed are the one I stick to. XD

My favorite themes are City, Indy, Space Police, and Power Miners. I've gotten sets from each theme and I'm hooked! However, I think I will definetly like Atlantis and Toy Story when I pick those up.

Favorite themed line for me is Indiana Jones. Even though there's only like 17 sets or so, every single one is a solid kit. No 'meh' or maybe's on it.

I have mostly Star Wars vehicles in my collection but for an overall line, there are hit and miss kits.

Agents and Space Police come in third. I love the ship and vehicle designs. Most notable on Agents are the Robot and the Mobile Command Center which are excellent, nicely detailed and fun build kits.

But again, top to bottom for a line...Indiana Jones is a winner!

My Number 1 is the pirates theme, They came out when I was 12 years old and have remained my favorite. I have some Star Wars sets and have collected many figs...I tend to admire that theme from a far (for the sake of my wallet). I only whish Star Wars was a theme when I was a child.

I was never really into star wars, and it's over priced. But I'll still get a small set for some interesting accessories and completeness sake.
