Need Information about #1593 Super Model

Hello,

I am beginning to work on a collection of rare vintage space lego sets (I loved

playing with legos growing up, and the very rare and hard ones to find really

attract my attention). #1593 is one of the sets that I am getting, and I am planning

on displaying it in my house in a few years.

Anyways, I was curious if anyone knew how many of the sets were made? The source

that I contacted said he thought that 1500 total were made, but he suggested

that I ask on here and that one of the Bricklink members would know the answer

to this question. (In case you are wondering, I am going to make little information

cards to go with the sets that I display, kind of like a museum)

Parts from sets 6880 and 6929 are used for making a super model. In the UK, this set was available from the makers of Persil washing powder.

well i did read about this a loooooong time ago on ebay... i think 1500 is acurate. i belief most of the sets were produced for the german market, as was said, as a promo for washing powder.

still, the best source would be The Lego Group. and if you do, please curse them on my behalf for not having produced more of these...

Thanks for the advice everyone so far, the quantity of 1500 for #1593 is also what my vintage lego source told me also.

My post on the Bricklink forum is getting some good responses also, I love to talk about vintage lego!
