Dr. Steve Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 The Day that I have been dreading is here....The End of the 2009 Pirate Lego has begun I have some Good News and some Bad news, First the good news for Army Builders who live near a Lego Store is that the Impulse Set for the Soldier has been reduced from $3.49 to $2.48. The Bad News is that the person who helped me box up all the Soldier Impulse sets (sorry there are none left in Raleigh store) said that they will not be getting anymore Lego Pirate Sets in (except for the Imperial Flag Ship...Since it is not a Technically a set from the current Pirate line). No other sets were on clearance (including the Pirate Impulse set). On a funny Note, I love how the label cuts off the word Arsenal. "Soldiers big behind" I guess that's for you British folks on the board Anyway, Its been a Hell of a ride with the 2009 Line. I think we should keep a thread open to notify each other when the other sets go on clearance. Quote
Swash Buckler Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Heh funny abbreviation there- but bad that they are ending.... Quote
Big Cam Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 LOL, I can't believe they let it print soldiers ares. hang onto that box. Quote
Legoist Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Of course it's not the end, just another pause. A few years of hiatus and then we'll have Pirates again, and maybe a bigger selection of set, the current one is quite small. Quote
Darth Legolas Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Somebody please submit that to failblog! It is sad though, the temporary end of pirates is near. It's always sad to see a theme end (unless it stunk.) To think that could happen to Star Wars! Quote
Dr. Steve Posted January 6, 2010 Author Posted January 6, 2010 LOL, I can't believe they let it print soldiers ares.hang onto that box. I have about 150 of them....So if anyone wants an empty box let me know and I can mail you one Quote

Dr. Steve Posted January 7, 2010 Author Posted January 7, 2010 For Real? I won my fantasy Football pool and got the money 2 days ago (good timing) That plus a bunch of uncashed lego points I got 151 Arsenals for about $360. So I wound up with 250 soldiers for winnning my Fantasy pool this year! That was a great prize. Quote
jamtf Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 I got 22 of these 8396 Soldier's Arsenal sets in a toy store for € 1,50 each today. Purchased 4 extra 8397 Pirate survival sets for the same price. Let the army building begin! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted January 7, 2010 Governor Posted January 7, 2010 Now that's quite amusing Quote
Zorro Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 You see, Mister Phes doesn't really believe into 'the end' of LEGO Pirates (neither do I). I have my fair share of Impulse packs too, I still have about 40 into their package which I bought in Günzburg during the latest EB event (also with a discount). Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted January 7, 2010 Governor Posted January 7, 2010 You see, Mister Phes doesn't really believe into 'the end' of LEGO Pirates (neither do I). Well not that "end" at least... Quote

the Inventor Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Which store was that? Indeed, I would also like to know that. the Inventor Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Somebody please submit that to failblog! My idea! Sad news though, but I hope it makes place for an upcoming pirate line in the future. Quote
Dr. Steve Posted January 7, 2010 Author Posted January 7, 2010 Sad, funny, exciting, and disappointing all in one post? Congrats, Im sure thats a first.-Martin Thanks! I aim to please....Sounds like a great Novel or Film rather than a post. Oh yeah, they have 32x32 Blue baseplates at the Lego store for $4.99. Not sure if they are up on Shop at Home yet. If they are not and you don't have a Lego Store near you let me know and I can always get you some and ship them up to you. Steve Quote
jamtf Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 (edited) Which store was that? A Top1Toys store nearby where I live well hidden in a remote area (small shopping centre) of the town (couple miles away from town centre). Can't tell more at the moment (sorry) since they have some more items I am planning to get over the next few weeks. If I tell you that I also got 4x Brickbeard's Bounty, 2x Soldiers fort, 4x Cannon Battle and 1x Loot Island all for 50% off you may understand why I keep this source hidden until I am done shopping. Yeah, I bought over twenty last year at an average of $10 each and I thought that was a deal. Some were ven damaged so I had to make sure to use them in a very careful way to hide the damage; such as under a dock or something similiar. I don't know if I'm going to pick up more, but I am going to take apart my port, so maybe.... -martinsuper Quote
