benny Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Volkswagen Beetle , i had the experience to travel with it when i was only 3-4 yrs old!! I like it lovely shape!!! When i want to make more MOC which can match to 10182 and 10185, i made this Volkswagen Beetle MOC!! Actually, i got the idea from brickXhief. I attracted different idea and designs from it!!! Finally, i made this Volkswagen Beetle !!! In orginal idea, i wanted to make the car having the front and back opening ion the car!!! As the problem of construction of car, i gave up them!!! Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 You choose a very hard vehicle to MOC. But you have seemed to pulled it off, it's the front of the MOC which sells it as a Veedub. That's comming from a former owner of two of them, though I perfer the sedan one they are still both very good. Quote
Milan Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Indeed, very hard vehicle to be modeled in Lego! But you did it quite nice, imo! I prefer the version with the roof, it just resemble more to Beetle to me. I could say: make bigger wheels, or rounder roof, but I kow how tough (impossible) can it be. I think this is very close to the maximum of the 5 wide Bettle Quote
Big Cam Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 My only complaint is the roof is flat, but that aside you tackled a hard project and did a great job! Quote

It is not ease to find the suitable wheels for the beetles!!!Two kinds of wheels of beetles are different!!!I want to find the good one to make more beetle! Quote
Milan Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 (edited) If you want bigger wheels, you will have to say goodbye to that nice mudguards... For the roof, did you try to use at the back and at the front? Edited November 13, 2009 by Milan Quote

For your slope, it may be too small for wheel!!!! For the windscreen, i want the trans-clear color but it is likely only trans-blue color or trans -black color !!! This color is not matched to the beetle! Quote
prateek Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 I love the fenders and the hood. Very realistic. IMO this is the most realistic minifig scale Beetle I've seen Quote
Legostein Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Hello! These archs do not only give excellent mudguards, they also allow for an angular attachmend of the headlights. Very clever! That's what I call functionalized shape. It provides the correct shape and allows for adding further authentic details. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote

WhiteFang Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 Nice to see you sharing some of your creations once more, with us. These are very nice Volkswagen Beetle that you have down there. Great job. I actually prefer both of these vehicles and it make a nice addition to any Classic Town. This has been featured in Classic-Town.net. Quote
MetroiD Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 Awesome MOCs! I was thinking of attempting a Beetle in 4-wide and if I do, I'll most definitely draw inspirations from these wonderful models of yours! They're quite innovative, yet true to the actual car... Quote
