Hello,

Here is some 98% progress of my new MOC, Hummer H1, 8 wide.

I did not want to build any kind of military vehicle, but simple city car, and since I plan to build one Hummer H1 in ModelTeam scale, I thought it would be nice to have one in minifig scale, also.

It has accurate proportioned shape from PDF sheet, chromed wheels, openable hood, smoked windows and optional wagon upgrade.

It can house 4 minifigs, and bunch of load at the back, or with wagon version, it can take 6 minifigs!

I havent build anything in this scale for about 10 years, but this little project may back me into the minifig scale again...

Ok, here it goes,

A friend of mine asked me why not make few more of them in different colors and sell them...

I may have start that if I find people here which are interested, will have to think about it....

C&C welcomed!

Hey, that looks great! You've really captured the proportions and overall look very accurately. And I love the curved bricks for the roof.

Looks like you need an engine though! I'd also recommend using grille bricks for the black bit on the hood, and maybe adding an 8-wide bull-bar on the front like in your reference pics (if you can do it without it getting in the way of the hinging mechanism).

That is awesome, in minifig size!

These would be priceless in Riot scenes or anything military. Does each post come with a complimentary set of instructions for these badboys?

I prefer the wagon over the pickup - ten to one. You have done your best to try and put as much detail from the real to the plastic Hummer.

I agree with SpaceMonkey on the extra details you could put on and in the Hummer, I would like to recommend a spot light bar across the roof top and smaller door handles if possible (the ones on there look too big). I guess if you were not going for a SNOT look you might have used plates, wing plates and 2x1 grills to make the front bonnet.

Both versions look great! Two small nitpicks>

It'd be nice to replicate the hood vents, but my MOCing skills are poor so I don't have any specific suggestions.

I agree that the door handles are a bit too big, but I don't see how they could be improved (other than modding the door to just incorporate a black 1x1 plate in the construction).

This is absolutely brilliant! I'm sure lots of people would love to buy those, have you discussed that with your local LUG... To be honest, I don't know if there's a LUG in Serbia, but I tell you mate - this is GREAT!!!

No LUGs in Serbia... yet.

Nice job!

Is this suppose to be like the MINI Racers?

Otherwise I was thinking it was too small and where does the minifig sit?

Any plans to attempt a SYSTEM scale version, perhaps 6 wide? :oh:

That would be very nice.

Wow, so many nice comments!

Thanks, guys!

I am going to take advices and try to make smaller door handles, and to place bull-bar and roof lights, and see if it looks right, I don't want it to be too crowded...

I sold my first Humer, acctaully, I gifted it to that rriend that suggested to sell them to the local Hummer fans.

Of course, I have immediately build one more for myself, and to show it around.

He showed it to the couple of his cousins, and they were impressed, and immediately asked can it be converted to the millitarry version :hmpf_bad:

Looks like HUMVEE is more popular than plain HUMMER!

Great realistic look, it's really easily recognizeable.

Personally I am not so fond of such "wide" vehicles, so I would prefer making it in 4- or 5 studs,

but I assume it'll be very hard to keep any resemblance with the original as you successfully

achieved with your 8-wide version.

I actually like this over the Humvee. IMO, they are an excessively common subject for MOCs (No offence to anyone that builds Humvees )

Nice hummer. Love that there are not studs present on your model. Do you have any pics with minifigs inside either truck? I am all about vehicles that can hold more than one minifig. Again sweet models!

I didn't respond to this any sooner, although I should have! Very nice model. It's very hard to actually judge the scale from a first glance at the pictures. To me it looked much larger at first than eight studs wide, which tells you how nicely proportioned and detailed it is!

Cheers,

Ralph

This is a highly accurate rendition of a hummer through LEGO! Excellent work here.

One of my future minifig vehicle MOCs is a military tan hummer. It will be hard to build it on your level!
