ATTENTION TO PARTICIPANTS OF THE GREAT LEGO WAR

Our newest recruit John Cleese wishes to use Time Cruisers in the Great War, however I do not think they are appropriate for a story set in the mid 17th century. Yes, this is a fictional LEGO based War with fantasy elements, but the Time Cruiser vehicles aren't compatible with the historic theme.

If you want to join the GREAT LEGO WAR Click here

Only the votes of those who are participating in the war are required. Everyone else refrain from voting.

After you vote post your reason(s) for your descision.

This are the Time Cruiser vehicles

Before anyone else misses the point of this thread...

And the reason WHY Kikuichimonji... Nothing to do with not being pirates...

Kikuichimonji it is expected that you will READ the posts in the future, as your question was answered in the first post. And if anyone else is thinking about making such a post prevent yourself by whatever means necessary because I am trying to get serious feedback here.

I believe we shouldnt allow it..It will take all the historicalness away. Not that I dont want John Cleese to play, but if he wants to then choose something else like forestmen, no one is using them so why not?

I doesn't necessarily have to be a theme or sub-theme, Willy. Ideally a participant should select a nation that uses mid 17th century technology. But there is some flexibility to allow older groups of people (such as the forest men and vikings), but nobody can have technology beyond what was available in the mid 17th century (like flying vehicles for example). Going backwards is fine, but not very logical as it can put the participant at a technological disadvantage.

I voted for the second option. It sorta stretches the realm of believability (which is why I wasn't thrilled with dragons or dark magic either). Now, if Mr. Clease chose to be the ruler of...say China, it would be great for him to participate (as long as he's on our side :^D ), but I think that choosing Time Twisters deviated a bit from the pattern. None of us really even chose a theme (even though I'm a "pirate", I'm not necessarily from the theme "Pirates", just like how people are representatives from nations such as New Greenland, Denmark, the colonies, etc.).

Hm...some countries that haven't been taken that could turn things around:

Italy

China

Anyway, I hope you decide (John) to participate in the war, we'll get those old grey bricks yet!

well i personally believe that they are appropriate for many reasons:

1.Its called the great historical 'Lego war' and since they can 'time travel' the historical part is covered too

2. i chose "time twisters" over 'time cruisers' because the time twister models reflect more victorianist and medieval designs with things like trains with cow catchers and castles in the back.

3. i have no more advantage over anyone else. Because i thought being a time traveling proffesser might seem unfair to others in the topic, i set a few guidelines, which i swore to limit my power by. I cant time travel presently, as my vessels have grown weak from the weight of random objects being dropped on them in the time continuum. I have very few men working for me. And i can accidently create paradoxes most of which harm me.

4. Phes i agree that there should be a set of rules, so that the story makes sense, and thats why i gave a reason that i could be there. Also i offered you aid then because viking told you he was coming with a fleet of 100 ships and i thought that you couldnt realistically prepair a fleet yourself, capable of challenging him before he arrived at your docks.

5. We need diversity we need people from all themes, which could plausibly be part of this war.

6. T.W.A.T is about space and there really isnt anywhere for a time twister enthusiast like me to role play. Hence that topic is the most appropriate place for this idea to go

and phes, i truly appreciate the lengths your going to, to decide whether youll accept my idea or not, never have i recieved such consideration from a mod on any forums before.

Hehe, manipulating voting Phes? :P

Your vote doesen't count - unless you should decide to join the war. But don't do that just to be a smart Mega Blok, join only if you're serious about joining.

I voted for the second option.

Sorry - much as I love the TimeCruisers and Twister - I just don't see how :'(

That would only allow the war to even more strange and unbelieveable...

[hate to do this to one of my favourite themes |-/ ]

Lets look at these reasons shall we...

well i personally believe that they are appropriate for many reasons:

1.Its called the great historical 'Lego war' and since they can 'time travel' the historical part is covered too

Quite happy to have you as a time traveller who has gone back in time, got stranded then caught up with this war.

2. i chose "time twisters" over 'time cruisers' because the time twister models reflect more victorianist  and medieval designs with things like trains with cow catchers and castles in the back.

The fact they're a combination of futuristic elements and historic elements makes them futuristic. The futuristic elements automatically over rule the historic ones.

3. i have no more advantage over anyone else.

From what I've seen all your vehicles have the ability to fly. None of the vehicles at this point of time can do that, and flying across the world obviously cuts down travelling time and leads way to all kinds of tactical advantages.

Yes, there is a set of rules for EVERYBODY which can be found in the first post of The Great Historic LEGO War Thread. Check that first post frequently because updates in the Latest News, Participants List and Rules are made every couple of days.

5. We need diversity we need people from all themes, which could plausibly be part of this war.

There is already far more diversity than I had originally intended. If I was as strict as I'd like to be this war would be limited to the Caribbean and the participants could only choose the 5 prominent nations there (England, France, Spain, Holland and Portugal), the survivers of the 3 great civilisation (Aztecs, Inacs and Mayans), whatever Indian tribes inhabited the region and perhap slightly north or whatever becomes the USA. So as far as I'm concerned there is plenty of diversity.

6. T.W.A.T is about space and there really isnt anywhere for a time twister enthusiast like me to role play. Hence that topic is the most appropriate place for this idea to go

Perhaps this thread isn't suitable for Time Twister enthusiasts either as we're mainly looking for historic themes. I.e Pirates, Castle, Ninja, Viking, etc. But we shall do the best we can to accomodate your idea.

and phes, i truly appreciate the lengths your going to, to decide whether youll accept my idea or not, never have i recieved such consideration from a mod on any forums before.

Nobody wants you to miss out! Everyone is welcome to participate in the war as long as they can write creatively within the bounds of the rules in a context set in the mid 17th century.

Your technological advantage isn't the greatest concern, its more the asethetics of your vehicles as they look completely out of place in this time period.

I say no, I just think that they don't fit in, futuristic flying planes and trains just don't fit in to 1700 century pirates! Unless you made a MOC of a 1700 century-pirate ship-time machine and posted it and explained how it worked, I say no.
