Hi,

This will be my last MOC until October or Christmas... at most Easter(next year) :pir_bawling:

cos I will be going back to my horrible boarding school... :pir-sick:

Anyway, I have updated my Scots company.

And a little story goes with it as well.

Somewhere in the frontier between Portugal and Spain...

A Scottish company was checked by the French and they were outnumbered.

The French were the blue coated army who marched in great columns and great numbers,

and each regiment carried a golden eagle given by the Emperor himself.

The Scots were outnumbered, but their spirits were still high, the spirits of wearing red.

They marched into thin red line and shouted their war cry: "RED COAT RULES!"

SN205935.jpg

To accompany the soldiers, there were the bandsman who play the bagpipes and beat the drum

SN205936.jpg

Then...

A blue coat colonel talked to his fellow ensign who was playing the trumpet.

Colonel: After this, lets go to a tavern and get some port, what do you say?

Ensign: Oui, oui, oui! I must say the waitress wears a very short skirt! :pir-wub: And...

SN205939.jpg

Of course, the Scots heard a different story.

The captain of the Scots encouraged them more...

Captain: Lads! They say we are wearing skirts! What do we do?

SN205940.jpg

The word "skirts" provoked their fury, and they charged like a running bull

SN205941.jpg

The blades struck home with them screaming:"This is not a bloody skirt! It is a kilt!!!"

SN205943.jpg

And the Blue coat infantry did what they were born to do, they broke and fled

SN205945.jpg

The colonel didn't response quick enough and was rewarded a blade struck into his mouth with a sergeant screaming:" This is not a bloody skirt!"

SN205946.jpg

The best thing of all, they have taken an eagle!

Thanks for watching/reading.

Hope you like it and please please leave me some comment, as this story and the decal, bagpipes, drums, flags... did took me some time to write and make. Thank you :pir-grin:

For the Scotland, For the United Kingdom, For the Bluecoats! :pir_laugh2:

I think next you should try focus on the scots faces to make them really scary to see charging:

You need them with lots of facial hair and facial expression! :pir_laugh2:

Then we shall destroy the Bluecoats.

Thanks for the replies. And sorry for the late reply.

to muffinman42:

Thanks... I don't know... but being such a small scale, if I add the Sporran, it isn't quite visible, so I decided not.

to Joey:

Thanks, I will try some of those heads next time.

They do in fact look like they're wearing mini-skirts :pir-grin:

I think becuse kilts flare out a bit more, whereas this brick technique makes the material appear as though it has more bondage.

Those kilts look really good, although I'm not really feeling the red-and-white trim on the socks.

Personally I'm a fan of Michael Jasper's techniique for kilts - using torsos as legs. The technic 1/2 pins and 1x1 tiles can be replaced by stacked 1x1 round plates to allow for attachment to baseplates.

Still, in large quantities, your technique looks great and is easily reproducable!

The thin with those kilts is that you can't move their legs, and also, they look to long a too tall. Kilts aren't really down to the ankles.

True they are taller but the first post looks like the Scots are on pegs for legs.

Egad! His fly is down!

Yes, I agree, it's too tall. But now I know another way to make dresses!

:pir_laugh2: I didn't notice that at first glance, that's hilarious.

Great work Alexandertam. I love the bag pipes and tyre hats. If only the blue coat colonel had been able to explain what he meant...that would be an awesome scene too, the blue coats and the red coats getting smashed together in a suitably rough-looking tavern. Can't wait for the next installment. :pir_laugh2:
