Sir Wellington Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Well with the new Bluecoats coming out hopefully next year, what shall we do with our older Bluecoats? I wanted to turn them into Napoleonic Troops, sadly they have a bright blue arm and a white back ruining it for me. Quote
Dr Kilroy Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 You can sell them to me! Really, if you don't know what to do with them... If you have an sentiment to them (I understand you ) make a Pirates museum and put your bluecoats in it. Or simply - make a dress party!!! Quote
Emperor Claudius Rome Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 I don't have any. But when I get some hopefully on my birthday, I'll just use them with the new Blue coats. Quote
Commodore Hornbricker Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 I think you are putting too fine a point on the issue of arms and back color. They make fine Napoleonic troops or British Naval Officers. Quote
General Armendariz Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 I say just keep them and use them for foot soldiers and the new ones for marines. Or give them to me Quote
Joey Lock Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Or, My Favourite option. Burn them. :pir-skull: Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 I have almost 60 of them and they are well trained, they shall fight redcoats, new or old. Quote
Edgehead Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 i have only 1 measley bluecoat and he's in fairly bad condition, chips and scartches and stuff; battlewounds from many hardfought scuffles. if the new bluecoats do come out i can assume that he will probably be retired to make way for the new blood, much the same as the couple of old redcoats i have were. Scouty Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Now why put good soldiers to such abuse?? Keep them as they are. The new guys are just new guys with a different looking uniform. Are we really sure blue coats are even coming ? Quote
Lego_Warlord_8 Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Or, My Favourite option. Burn them. :pir-skull: Oh no!!! How could you be such a blasphemer of Lego's golden days? Those things are precious! But really, just keep them, they can be used as all sorts of troops. ~LW 8~ Quote
Admiral Croissant Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 If a lot of people don't want them anymore because they are 'old' I hope they will sell them for a very fine price. Than I will buy them and train them to an army just as good as the new ones (maybe even better, they are more experienced). If I read the previous posts, I don't think it will be hard to get rid of them Quote
saberwing Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 I will just keep my bluecoat (yes, I only have one ). But I can't seem to understand why some of you want to sell/burn them. Quote
Thee Pirate Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 My bluecoats don't see any use anymore. With the reintroduction of the Pirates line, I've replaced all my old worn out minifigs with the modern ones. Uuugggh, I don't want bluecoats just yet. Give redcoats another year or so, so I can continue building up my new redcoat army. (which is currently sitting around 60 strong.) Quote

muffinman42 Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 hopefully the pirates theme this time will survive for quite some years, so theres plenty off time for blue coats and red coats to fight for whos sets whos. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted September 10, 2009 Governor Posted September 10, 2009 Well with the new Bluecoats coming out hopefully next year, what shall we do with our older Bluecoats? Blue Coats coming in the future? Do you know something that we all don't? Quote
Sir Wellington Posted September 11, 2009 Author Posted September 11, 2009 Blue Coats coming in the future? Do you know something that we all don't? Yes I do, I have my resources. Quote
domboy Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 I kind of like the older blue/red coat figures, especially that the heads were based around the standard smiley face (goes for the pirates too), or in the case of the regular soldier, actually have the standard smiley face head. Some of the faces on the new ones are ok, but some of them just don't look the part. And the lack of backpacks... But in all seriousness, why does it have to be an either/or situation? Why can't they co-exist? I guess I'm not into army-building so maybe I don't get it... Don't burn them! At least sell them on bricklink if you don't want them anymore! Quote
