Hi Daniel, you may want to introduce yourself HERE.

Flagships are generally THE models of the year, which means with most parts, most functions, greatly designed, and the most expensive!

You do have flagships...these models are, arguably, one of the best Technic models.

Hi.

I'm new to this forums.

I have the Bulldozer and Moblie Crane, do these count as flagship model? Which model is the Lego flagship?

I love to have that 8043 Excavator. Can't wait..... :cry_happy:

Thanks.

Daniel.

your models are indeed pretty good flagships, they are the most expensive of the year. 2008 was a strange year tho as the flagship was not the one with the most parts.

8041 in the new catalogue has a Power Functions logo next to it, but there is no mention of it in the description. I assume it's a printing error, unless the manual has something about it. I'll find out in a day or so and let you know here if there is anything about it.

On 8043 box, I can see arrow mark for bucket, first arm, second arm and turntable, which mean it to be motorised, I cannot see any arrow for track drive. If this is the case, there are four motor ( 2 x XL and 2 x M ? ).........it will give me something to moc.

I will wait for a better pictures....

Which catalogue?

The boxart only has a 2models1set logo.

So i am waiting on your reply.

The new 2010 catalogue, mine came through the post today.

It has four pages for Technic (a first for years!) and next to the Race Truck is a Power Functions logo..

I can't read the text with the 8041. Does it say anything about powerfunctions?

Edit 21.42

With a little searching i found another picture. (LEGO S@H Catalogue??)

Check this!

Under the PF logo it says:

Bring your Race Truck to life with Power Functions accessories.

So i think there will be more info on that on the buildinginstructionsbooks of the A-Model

No. It seems there is no PF for this (bad) set.

Check my original message!

O_o

I must say that I'm a bit surprised.

Anyway, this is still a bad set, IMO. Even with PF, it is more Racer than Technic. :sadnew:

Hopefully mine will arrive on Thursday (tomorrow) so I'll post any info on here. It's odd that the UK catalogue doesn't mention anything, other than the logo.

I assume we will be able to add full remote control to it, that would be cool!

What is bad about it, -just because you dont like it?

I can see many good things in it, even if its only some of the newer parts in colours not released before, and based on recent price form it is a reasonably priced parts set, though I think I may fancy one for my model collection but will decide once I have it.

Prices have been placed on a few places on the internet...with actual European prices and estimated US prices.

8051 €39.99 (about $49.99)

8052 €60,99 (about $69.99)

8053 €99,99 (about $99.99)

8043 €164,99 (about $149.99)

If that price is anywhere near final for the excavator, it would mean we will see two big-flagship years in a row. Also, the crane would be around 1000-1100 parts like the 8265, maybe even a bit bigger. Definitely sounds like a good one if you missed the 8421 crane like I did.

Awesome! I just hope the exchange rate is better for us Brits, the Crane Truck is £130!

I am surprised there were no more picture scans from the catalogue of the 2H2010 models. The scans we got had page numbers so I would have thought there would be bigger photos of the boxes on those pages..

8421 had about 1800 parts I think! Would be good if the new one is as complex as that or the 8265, we want another gears monster to play with :)

This must be a joke. :sceptic: or a very bad premonition

€39,95 ~ $49,99 makes sense seeing the exchange rate (finally!!), but €164,99 ~ $149.99 is a very bad joke! (according to today's rates 149,99= €104,48)

I'm afraid there's no joke in the estimated price for 8043, the current flagship 8258 is $150 -> 160€(Netherlands)-190€(Finland). All prices quoted from shop.lego.com

Any luck yet in receiving the 8041?

Did you made any pictures already?

I would expect to see a US price of $150 for 8043. TLG has seemingly capped the price of flagship Technic models at $150 in recent years. This isn't necessarily a good thing though, as they cut corners on the models to bring the price down to that level. 8258 had several obvious examples of this.

Well it had better be bloody complicated/technical/sophisticated for that price, i'm not gonna pay half that for a glorified motor back with a bunch of linear actuators thrown in.
