Dragon King Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 What is your favorite lego set you have ever gotten? Mine was a dragon master castle called fire breathing fortress or dark dragon den Quote
Darth_Ewok Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 The lego set that brought me out of my Dark Ages (it hooked me) The very first X-Wing *satis* ... I don't have pics though :( Don't know where to look Quote
Evil Willy Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Imperial trading post. I love the simple design...3 Buildings, cranes, 3 cannons!...Nice docks...Could use 1 less pirate and one more blue epauleted shako hated gaurd...But the little merchant ship makes up..All soo very beautiful! Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 One of my all time favorites: This was my first castle and the most special. It's probably not my all-time favorite set, but it definately brings back some very fun childhood memories. After 10 people post their favorite sets, we should do a poll to see how they rank. Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 One of my all time favorite sets (Either number one or in the top three): Quote
gylman Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Airtech Claw Rig. 8868. Never before or since has so much functionality been packed into such a (relatively) small package. Quote
Evil Willy Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Wow brickster and gylman interesting choices...They are not my style(Althought I like the Wild West) But I like your distinct choices not just voting for what everyone thinks is the best, but you likings, your set in particular the brickster is really nice..Two houses a cart JAMMED with figs lots of playability nice piece set etc... gylman Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Well, I enjoy both system and Technic lego, but Technic rules in my collection and in the amount of time I spend building things. Nothing has ever surpassed the Claw Rig. There have been bigger sets, nicer looking sets, but nothing with better engineering. One of these days I need to build a bigger version of it with remote control, but that would be quite the challenge. I agree that Imperial Trading Post is one of the all time best. I love that set too. If I was to pick a system fav, out of all the amazing things that are out there, it would be a tough call. I like classic castle best, probably the Black Falcon's Fortress, 6074, which is a perfect set: not too big, not too small, fun build, nice looking. http://guide.lugnet.com/set/6074 This years Building Bonanza is probably the best value for money in a set that Lego has ever made. Tiles, tons of white, green slopes, roof +++, long old gray elements, for a very reasonable price. Nothing in that set is useless. Every serious MOCer needs to buy 3-5 of this set. http://guide.lugnet.com/set/4886 All my personal opinion of course. Quote
KimT Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 This was the last set I got before entering my Dark Ages. I believe it to be one of the best castle sets EVER *knight* It's my favourite followed by the UCS X-Wing that brought me out the Dark Ages again :oD KimT Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Phew, that's a tough one. My favorite SW set (which is the only thing I actually collect to display, the rest of my sets are bought for parts) would be the 4504 Millenium Falcon. I was so happy to get the 2nd version, since I missed the first one. I also got it real cheap :-D. And it just looks that good... http://www.brickset.com/search.aspx?query=4504 Out of non-SW sets, I especially like the fire station and police station I own. I also really like the Sopwith Camel http://www.brickset.com/search.aspx?Set=6389-1 http://www.brickset.com/search.aspx?Set=6386-1 http://www.brickset.com/search.aspx?Set=3451-1 Quote
Dragon King Posted December 21, 2005 Author Posted December 21, 2005 Kimt that castle set is awsome. :oD Quote

Very nice set. I do have Black Falcon's Fortress when it was released as a legend. Great set also - just small in comparison to 6085. Quote

The combination of black and blue look great. This was a good choice for Lego to do as a Legend. The 80s castle and pirate sets were definately some of the best ever! Quote
Sir Dillon Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Mine is 6080, King's Castle. http://brickset.com/search.aspx?query=6080 Quote

5150 Lego Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 This is a hard one. I've always been a fan of lego's cranes, so this is one of my all time fav's.. 8438 Crane truck I remeber seeing this in one of my catologs when i was a kid, and fell in love. I don't think i missed a single school asignment, and went to bed without a so my parents would get it for me for Christmas. (to bad it was back ordered, and i dind't actualy get it till like feb or somthing). This is the oldest set that i still have together that i bought when i was young. This crane has had quite a life, and helped build some pretty cool stuffin my back yard. It was also one of the ones i modified the most. Added an attachment jib, made the arms extend longer, made my own outriggers, (the stock ones weren't long enough for what i was lifting). Never had the heart to take it apart...... So i guess i'd have to say that this one is my fav set. *wub* Quote
