Norro Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Just wanted to pay tribute to my Ebay mentor: Mr. Phes! Since he painstakingly taught me to use the search function a few years back my skills have gradually improved... Until just this month I was able to buy a Barnacle Bay 1729 -tragically missing one pirate- for $1.95... Thanks again! God Bless, Nathan Quote

God Bless, Nathan Now we're talking about Bargains! 1,95 is incredible for such a set! Old, but still very nice to have in the collection. It sounds the searching efforts paid well! Even 2 Imperial soldiers in there, only 1 fully armed soldier costs about $5. Quote
Commander Flash Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 $1.95! That's a steal (pirate joke ) Too bad about the pirate Quote

Governor Mister Phes Posted August 5, 2009 Governor Posted August 5, 2009 How much were the postage costs? Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 $5,- for the whole bunch. And another $5,- for the missing pirate. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted August 6, 2009 Governor Posted August 6, 2009 Uhhhh... Ummm... Not quite sure what to say to that. Which is unusual for me. Quote
Norro Posted August 6, 2009 Author Posted August 6, 2009 It was around $3, don't quote me... I got a few of the missing lad (with a more useful hat) from an unwanted lego pile a while back. God Bless, Nathan Quote
Millacol88 Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Great deal, Norro! It's amazing how much the price of something can drop because one small component is missing. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted August 8, 2009 Governor Posted August 8, 2009 It was around $3, don't quote me... I got a few of the missing lad (with a more useful hat) from an unwanted lego pile a while back. Norror says it wsa around $3 ay? Where abouts did this set originate from? Great deal, Norro! It's amazing how much the price of something can drop because one small component is missing. If only it took that much. Sets missing half the minifigures still fetch a decent price in my part of the wolrd. Quote
