Brazilian Vanderlei Lima had bin ahead alone for over 10 km, when someone dressed in some kind of uniform, forced Lima to the side of the road, where only help of other spectators Lima escaped. At this time no one knows who the idiot is. Im sorry to use name calling. But this idiot really is an idiot. An man was ahead of a race he always dreamed of winning (Lima), only to see it go away. Good thing that Lima did win Bronze...... I also feel bad for Italian Stefano Baldini who won the run, his victory will always be in the shadow of this.... American Mebrahtom Keflezighi wun silver... This is why runners should be given knifes, but where are the Olympic police? Don't they have guards around the area? Who let this crazy freak around, I mean look at what he is wearing you know he's up to something. I would have beaten him down. If I was another runner I would go help Lima and beat the shit out of the other guy. Once again, where the hell are the cops? And why wasn't this guy arrested? Did the big guy in blue tackle the wacko? What I got from the sign is.... There was no police, yet during the the 20/50k WALK!!! walking has police, but a real sport doesn't? What the hell are they do? Are there donuts around at the time or something? Then they arrest the guy but he won't go to jail! This is his third time doing something dumb like thing and all he gets is a $3,600 fine. There are some serius problems here. Quote

It must have blown away the guys confidence and might have lead to him not winning, it was good that he didn't blame this inncident on him only getting bronze though. And, at least he got a special award. Something more should happen to this fool though. He interfered with a Formula 1 race in the Uk last year. Maybe we should have tighter security at events like this, that sure would help. Jon. Quote
