DoubleT Posted August 23, 2004 Posted August 23, 2004 Mizuki Noguchi (Japan) won the marathon ahead of Catherine Ndereba (KEN) and Deena Kastor (USA) The course was by many ruled to be the tuffest course ever. And it startet where the first run was run... In Marathon Of Cause ;) Quote
jonfett Posted August 23, 2004 Posted August 23, 2004 Poor Paula Radcliffe for Britain. She was the favourite and was winning for the first half but after about 34km she started to loose it and after she was overtaken and went out of the medals she broke down and stopped running at 36km. That was bad for her as she (and everbody else) expected gold. Oh well, she is still a great athlete and well done to the others who got medals. It was a really tough course, specially in the heat. The guy who ran it thousands of years ago to warn of invasion collapsed and died after!! Jon. Quote
