Out of era call of duty game idea thread

While its obvious your a Star Wars fan (nothing wrong with that) and i respect your idea,i would rather not have a COD game wasted on SW considering how many games we already have based on SW. You yourself even said it would be very similar to one that's already out.

I'd like to see one that's even more modern than the current series. Have the opportunity to play soldiers from different countries battling on different parts of the world. Doesn't have to be based on any past war. Kind of like a "What if" type situations were turning points in past wars were done different and were now paying for those actions.

I totally agree. While I like Star Wars, Lucasarts already takes care of Star Wars games. COD doesn't need to take over making Star Wars games. I think that a WWI would be doable, but again the idea of trench warfare would make it difficult to fight squad-based missions. Just running across a huge battlefield and getting mowed down wouldn't be that fun.

And personally, I am not a fan of Medal of Honor. The gameplay is weak and the graphics aren't very good. They turn them out so quickly that the games suffer.

They churn COD games out pretty quick too, but I think that's mostly because Treyarch and Infinity Ward have been taking turns developing them lately, to be sure there's always one to release each year. WW2 has been done to death, but I can see the new Modern Warfare franchise going for a few more years. In fact, I think what's most likely to happen is, IW will continue with Modern Warfare, and Treyarch will continue with the COD franchise. Which could mean Modern Warfare 2 will be a break from the COD formula, and will perhaps have a single-player mode that's a bit more open-ended, and perhaps less monotonous. This is just wishful thinking though.
