Originally, call of duty was to take place during the second world war. But after the realese of Modern Wafare, who knows what might happen.

Post your ideas for call of duty games that take place outside the second world war. It could be something serious (i.e, Vietnam, the cold war) or something jokingly (i.e stone age warfare)

I'd like to see teletubbies, care bears or the wiggles as the enemy and you could pick your choice of speal forces units to mow them down.

Don't forget my little pony  No, really, I'm serious, that would be an awesome game!

Interesting topic, but I don't think that the not serious part was necessary. That would probably just end up turning this topic into a 'Navy Seal versus Care Bears and My Little Pony topic. The War of 1812, American Civil War, WWI, or something futuristic (more so than 2011)

Personally, I don't think wars should be made into video games. If they had to, they should make an old time war, like the war of 1812.

Why not? What distinguishes a war from the 19th century being made into a game and a war from the 21st century being made into a game?

Oh crap. You are for sure going to start some stupid argument about ' i think I'm right because I can voice my opinion better than yours' now stop before that happens. I said if there had to be a suggestion. I'm not saying I would play these games, nor do I think they are good. I just was putting an idea to the table for the others. I wouldn't want to reenact some thing that involves the killing of people who suffered in real life, no matter who they are.

I just recently read a rumor that COD 7 is going to take place in Vietnam/The Cold War, which I believe is the next logical step in the series. They have pretty much beat WWII to death, with 4 of the main series and all of the expansion packs taking place during this war.

Concerning wars that happened before the 20th century, I don't really think it would be possible. The weapons and style of warfare are not conducive to the idea of COD, which is small, squad-based actions. The type of guns would make it a pain to play, with terrible reload time and poor accuracy. I just don't think it would work.

Also, I think Natmann8000 thinks that a game based on an older war would be less violent because you wouldn't be able to mow down people with a machine gun. And while the weapons would make it harder to kill people, those wars were much bloodier than wars are today. With modern medicine, soldiers can survive pretty severe injuries. And honestly, war games make companies millions upon millions of dollars. They are popular and fun. They aren't going to stop making them anytime soon.

And Natmann8000. He wasn't trying to start a big argument. He was simply stating that he didn't understand your comment. Why is an older was ok, but a more modern one not?

I know it's a bit far-fetched and it's not what you were meaning, but I'd love to see a Clone Wars CoD from Star Wars. :cry_happy:

I suppose it would be similar to the Battlefront series, but with the news that Battlefront 3 may not be available on PS3 (:cry_sad:), and the fact that I loved Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, I think it would be my favourite game on Playstation!

It would be great to have separate story and multiplayer modes (splitscreen and online). BF1 & 2 had missions set on the same maps as the 'arcade mode' play, so having different maps with a variety of objectives like scouting, war, etc. would be much better.

Like CoD, you could make your own weapon arrangements and perks, as well as customize your outfit, to a certain extent.

Like WaW, in-game vehicles could be included, but AATs and TX-130s instead of normal tanks.

There could be different game modes online, as well as many maps, and things like bomber and gunship support after so many kills.

Also, this will solve Natman's problem of not killing people on the game when real people had done it in real life.

Please comment if you agree with me on this idea. :classic:

That actually sounds like a pretty good idea. That also got me thinking about other COD games based off of Sci-fi titles. I could make a whole page on a Halo COD, but would rather not.....

But a Clone Wars COD, or even Rebellion Era COD would be tons of fun. Especially if you could play as either side of the conflict, as only playing as the good guys gets boring after a while. A COD game that fits in with the already existing ones where there are two campaigns - one for each side, would be good.

The Multiplayer would have AATs and TX-130s' for the Clone Wars Era and AAC Hovertanks and AT-STs for the Rebellion Era. Since it would be a COD game, it could be more violent than most Star Wars titles out there (I.E. limbs coming off and blood as well) As far fetched as this sounds, it could be really good, or a total flop.

Get you panties out of a bunch kid. Seriously, do you even think before you speak?? You don't want to play then fine. But don't come on here with your holier-than-thou attitude. I never once forced you opinion on you, or anyone else. So please, lets not go there.

And if you feel that strongly about war games, then why even post in this topic? Your original post is still contradicting to your "beliefs" so to speak and you never answered the original question, you just choose to single me out. Not cool.

While its obvious your a Star Wars fan (nothing wrong with that) and i respect your idea,i would rather not have a COD game wasted on SW considering how many games we already have based on SW. You yourself even said it would be very similar to one that's already out.

I'd like to see one that's even more modern than the current series. Have the opportunity to play soldiers from different countries battling on different parts of the world. Doesn't have to be based on any past war. Kind of like a "What if" type situations were turning points in past wars were done different and were now paying for those actions.

I'm not going to continue this any further. All I meant is that I'm just bringing out an idea![b\] I don't want to play these, but I have no problems with others playing them! So you guys can talk about it! I think that these things will be made into games anyway, so there is nothing wrong with me bringing ideas out. And 5150 Lego, I'm not going to stand for your bitterness. I wouldn't want to single you out, especially since I've seen in the past that you are notorious at starting huge arguments in the past. SWMAN is right, since I still play violent games, like Starfox, but not where it is a time where people had actually gotten killed. So really, I don't even think I'd want to play a Civil War game, for that reason. Oh, and to you, I'm Natman8000, not kid.

I understand that you were bring in an idea, but it was very contradicting considering you state they shouldn't make a game about war, then you make a suggestion on which war you'd like to see made into a game. Do you see this? I'm not the only person who noticed this either.

And 5150 Lego, I'm not going to stand for your bitterness.

I'm not bitter, but i won't stand for being singled out either. (which you did do). You quoted me and made assumptions on that i was forcing my opinion on you and others. When that wasn't the case.

I have never started "huge arguments" as you put it. I have however, participated in debates and I'm the type that when i feel passionate about a certain subject, i don't back down. If you follow my posts as well as you say you do, then you should have known that.

Oh, and to you, I'm Natman8000, not kid.

Then don't act like one.

Look, my intetion isn't to start a war with you. BUt please don't say things about people and not expect a resonse. Peace ok?

I'm not going to say anything that might incriminate me further, and this is so petty, you have no idea. So all in all, forget I even opened my mouth, because I can't waste my time with people like you.

I offer you peace and this is your response? Right kid. You started all this, not me.

Anyways, back on topic,

I'd like to see more vehicle based missions. Or even a levels on submarines and battle ships. That would be cool.

*Raises his head and looks out of the trench*

"So, is the forum war over?"

On-topic: I'd like to see one last great COD game. WaW was not that spectacular, but Modern Warfare 2 looks good. I want, as others have said, something in the future. Maybe set 200 years from now or so. It could be good if they handle it right, and don't add in to many over-powered, or over-the-top weapons, which is easy to do in a futuristic setting.

Woah, inadvertently started a forum war. Ever so sorry Natman8000, I was just curious about what you meant, I wasn't trying to insinuate anything, though I see how it could be easily interpreted that way. Glad it's over anyway, sorry guys!
