Spacerunner Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 There are three ships I'd like to present here today. All of them are in Spyrius theme. A - 05 - Diplomat This ship serves to transport important persons with comfort and speed. Construction in very boxy, simple windshield and two large engines. No wings this time. There is cockpit for pilot and one more fig (navigator probably) and room for four more figs with table and comminication panel. In rear section is some maintenance room wit droid. Ship is equipped with satelites and laser-gun on roof. Brickshelf gallery here A - 06 - Sabrefigter Theese twins were built to protect the A-05 on more dangerous missions. Construction idea was to build something very slim and strong too. Podracer of Temto Pagalies (SW-E1) was mine inspiration. Fighters are heavily equipped with various guns, satelite and antenna. Algernon Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Very interesting. I like the small escort vehicles a lot; very creative. Quote
SuvieD Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I like the transport. You got the colors down and the shape is interesting and fun. The escorts seem not so great to me. The lack of canopy for the pilots invites added problems and limits them to atmospheric flight only. I also dislike the trans-red parts, those would be better in trans neon green by far. Landing gear seems totally absent unless I missed it somehow. You might want to consider adding some. I like the idea a lot though and your overall designs are very creative. Quote
Still Raindrop Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Those sabrefighters look like they could attach to the Diplomat. I like the Teemto-inspired cockpits. The Diplomat itself is impressive--captures the Spyrius look and feel perfectly. I've always liked Spyrius, so this is good to see. Quote
CP5670 Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 The Diplomat is great. It's good to see other people building ships in the classic colors and styles. As with your last model, the conference room is especially well designed. I wonder what evil plans they're discussing in there. The escort ships are a little odd though. The shape is interesting, but they look like they're made for hovering along the ground rather than as spacecraft. Adding trans-blue octagon canopies around the cockpits may give them a more space-like appearance. Quote

They are planning to remove the centers of every chocolate covered cherry and replace them with yucky, gooey, mayonaise! Quote
Spacerunner Posted June 3, 2009 Author Posted June 3, 2009 They are planning to remove the centers of every chocolate covered cherry and replace them with yucky, gooey, mayonaise! You have a spy there or how do you know? We're considering building a device that could do that The escort ships are ment to be more like hovercrafts, but I'll try octagonal canopies - Blacktron style Quote
Batbrick Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Very neat, I love the colour scheme you've chosen. The actual shuttle is very well built, I espeically love the use of wheels as thrusters. The main sitting room is very well done, good job of packing so much into such small space. The escorts also look good, but I agree with SuvieD, I think they need proper cockpits. Overall a great job though! Batbrick Away! Quote
TenorPenny Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 I don't think the fighters need full cockpits, in the old school space sense. I think the whole ensemble work very well, on the whole. Quote
