SWMAN Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 So, I just recently began playing Half-Life 2, and I love it. Not only is the gameplay fun, but the story is probably the most engaging I have ever encountered. I have beaten the original game and Episode 1 and 2. I cannot wait until Episode 3 comes out. While it is a few years old and the graphics aren't as amazing as games such as COD 4, the story easily makes up for it. Also, I love the unique gameplay. For those who haven't played, there are no mission objectives. There is no menu that tells you what you have accomplished and what you need to accomplish. There is no map with where you are and where your objective is. There are two ways you figure out what to do. One of the AI characters tells you or you guess. On most games you can turn off the volume if you want. This one, you can't. And while in most levels there is only one way to go, you still have to find where to go and what to do a lot of the time. The game also has one of the best weapons ever, the Gravity Gun. With this, you can pick up most small objects and throw them at pesky Combine soldiers or you can push a car over an Antlion holes. The enemies are also challenging, and even on easy, the game is still very challenging. Overall, these are the best games I have ever played. Quote
Joey Lock Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 You are quite correct! You have Half-Life on PC? You need to buy a game on steam called Garrys Mod. Its a mod for half-life and you can change anything, Play around with ragdolls, Download weapons, RP online, Multiplay Half-life maps. Quote
yellost Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 What you really NEED to try from HL2 is PORTAL. That was one of the most fantastic experiences I had (videogame-wise, that is ). Just puzzle after puzzle with a portal gun that will have you twist your mind in some really incredible ways to get to the next room... Unfortunately, it was waaay too short... around 3 hours play... I have played Portal, and it is a great game as well. Also, I am not big into modding or anything like that. I am a traditionalist when it comes to games and my Lego's. Quote

It had no real story to it, Because Half-Life: 3 hasnt been realeased yet, which should include the competition between Black Mesa and Apperture Science. Half-Life: 3 should also include the mystery behind the "Borealis" ship which should have some special Item on to stop the Combine Invasion. Quote
