MrTools Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Just got a letter in the mail today announcing that a new LEGO store will be opening in Cincinnati just about an hour away from my house! Its about time as well, i have been hoping for one for years and well its opening on the 22nd of june. Along with that this information was found on the page. June 19 - 21 Nordstrom Court Friday, June 19: 11am - 7pm Saturday, June 20: 10am - 6pm Sunday, June 21: 12pm - 6pm You’ll get a free LEGO Star Wars™ Certificate of Achievement for helping, while supplies last! Visit the LEGO Store during the event to enter for a chance to win a $50 LEGO Store Gift Card! No purchase necessary to enter. Plus: On Saturday, be one of the first 300 customers to spend $35 in the LEGO Store and you’ll receive an exclusive, limited-edition LEGO set! On Sunday, the first 300 customers to spend $35 in the LEGO Store will receive an exclusive, limited-edition LEGO Minifigure T-Shirt! Shirts are available in child’s sizes only. " I could care less how crowded it gets down there but i plan to get down there on saturday to get that exlusive set and try to get a peek at the R2-D2 model (i could help out who cares if im 15 this doesnt happen everyday! ) Althoght its a shame the shirt is only in childrens sizes Quote
Commodore Hornbricker Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Awsome. I've got one close to home but be carefull...I go in there so often they know me by name...At least the one on my debit card anyway. They had a lifesize pirate building event a month or so ago. I took my two daughters...they loved it. It was pretty cool. Quote
Tom Bricks Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 They closed the store by me a few years ago That set is going to be worth allot more than $35 on bricklink, good luck on getting it! Quote

ILikePi Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 You better get there really early. And I mean really early. Nannan went to one of the openings, and the line was huge. He took a video of it: http://www.flickr.com/photos/nannanz/3536583516/ Quote
MrTools Posted May 27, 2009 Author Posted May 27, 2009 WOW Well even if there is a line it will be worth it to me i have been waiting for years and i do plan to get there an hour early (its the best i can do) Quote
Dadster Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Congrats - I have to drive an hour or so, but its still worth it. Make sure you take some pics and show them off here! Quote
jonwil Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 How about opening one in Australia please. Open one in Sydney or Melbourne and have a mail order service Australia wide. Sell all the Shop @ Home exclusives (at the same price as Shop @ Home) and it will be a big win for all those people who want those sets without the huge shipping costs and the huge wait. Even better, ship random boxes of whatever parts TLG has too much of and put them in the LEGO store for people to buy in the same way you buy bulk candy. Quote
Legoking Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 You are lucky. The nearest Lego store to me is about 1 or 2 hours away from where I live. I have heard about a lot of "Help a Lego Master build a giant R2-D2." Why are there so many of those building events? LegoKing Quote
