Abaddon127 Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Hi guys, I am a long time lurker, first time poster. I am 27 years old, from Indianapolis Indiana, and have been a LEGO lover since the age of 3. I started out collecting LEGO by theme with the Western line from '96 and I have since collected sets from many themes. My favorites themes in recent years have been, Castle, Indy, to a much lesser extent Star Wars, and a few of the smaller classic castle sets. I am a big fan of LEGO mecha that MOC'ers post on Brickshelf, and MOCpages, and I really like sci-fi subthemes. If you guys follow the Brothers-Brick blog, some of my favorite customizers are Soren Roberts, Daniel Rubin, and Keith Goldman. I really admire these guys work, and hope to one day have that level of skill in custom building. For my own part, I greatly enjoy minifig customization, specifically the making of custom weapons, and accessories for my little soldiers. I also love LEGO wargaming, and am currently in the long and slow-progressing process of making my own set of rules based on a heavily modified amalgam of Warhammer 40k, and D&D. I look forward to being a part of this community, and I love to share my thoughts wth fellow AFOLs. Quote
Hinckley Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 You're also a demon, right? Or a LOST character? Nice to have another midwesterner on the boards. Are you heading up to Chicago for BrickWorld? Quote
MightySlickPancake Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 great for you to join and have a great time at eurobricks welcome to eurobricks and as Hinckley said (although i live in Engaland) are you heading up to Chicago for BrickWorld? cb Quote
Eilif Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 (edited) You're also a demon, right? Ah yes, the angel of the bottomless pit. Very creepy and very Close, but I think that the particular Abbadon his handle referrs to (beware as Eilif reveals his geeky past) is Abbadon the Despoiler a rather nasty Chaos Space Marine charachter from Warhammer 40k. Oh, and welcome to Eurobricks! Edited May 21, 2009 by Eilif Quote
Abaddon127 Posted May 23, 2009 Author Posted May 23, 2009 Hey guys, thanks for the warm welcomes. My name actually from the name I picked out for myself on my Bricklink account. I made it up about 9 years ago when it sounded "cool", I just recycled it here for ease of remembrance. I would love to go to Brickworld, but I will be out of town. It sounds really awesome though, and I hope to attend next year. Quote
