Hound Knight Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 From left to right, American, British, and French. Enjoy! Quote
SWMAN Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 I am confused. You only seem to have one French soldier, and there are more British and Americans. Plus, the American's didn't fight Napoleon. Quote

The Americans were allied with France against Britain, which is one of the events that led up to the War of 1812. Quote
Admiral Croissant Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Nice army with some very good-looking officers (I mean their suit and haircut ) And what is that crocodile doing there? Is that a weapon? Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Yup! I like this vignette, and I've spotted some very nice torso's! I really like the American and British officer. But why have the Americans no headgear? Are you planning to add them? It would be nicer to see. Oh, and I still like the stagecoach! Quote

Thank you! That's the alligator cannon belonging to my Americans. "We fired our cannon 'til the barrel melted down, So we grabbed and alligator and we poured another round, We filled his head with cannonballs and powdered his behind, And when we touched the powder off the gator lost his mind!" -The Battle of New Orleans Yup!I like this vignette, and I've spotted some very nice torso's! I need to order a bunch more shakos for all my U.S. and French troops. Quote

I even have put it on my PSP. Are... are you the one who made it? Quote

Captain Blackmoor Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 No, there was a LEGO animation video made from the Battle of New Orleans, the animation work was awesome. The music track at the background was from Johnny Horton. And in the movie there was a LEGO alligator on wheels, supposing to be a cannon so I thought perhaps you were the one who made it. Quote

The Americans were allied with France against Britain, which is one of the events that led up to the War of 1812. I don't mean to sound like a know-it-all here, but that is not true. The Americans traded with France, but that was simply for economic purposes. America was not allied militarily or politically with Napoleonic-France. They stayed out of the war completely. The War of 1812 was started because GB imposed trade restrictions on the US for trading with France. Also, GB was imprisoning US merchant sailors and helping the Native Americans against the US. Admiral Croissant Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Enough about alligators What are the things next to them, rockets? they look quite interesting too.. Quote

Hmmm... Maybe I'm getting this confused with the American Revolution. Enough about alligators What are the things next to them, rockets? they look quite interesting too.. Those are undercarriages that are awaiting cannons. Quote
SWMAN Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Hmmm... Maybe I'm getting this confused with the American Revolution. Probably. The French helped the Americans during the Revolutionary War, first with arms and supplies and then with an actual army and navy near the end of the war. The last time the British and Americans fought was the War of 1812. After that we didn't do a lot until we saved their butts in WWI and WWII. Quote
Zorro Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Nice armies! I myself have quite an army too, but yours is better in difersification! Quote
Commodore Hornbricker Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 The beginings of a really cool army. I can't wait to watch as it continues to evolve and expand. Quote
Dr. Steve Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 I really like the look of the white epaulette on those soldiers Quote
Hound Knight Posted May 24, 2009 Author Posted May 24, 2009 Here's the latest shot of the troops: As you can see, I have added Spaniards, Blackcoats, and Pirates. Oh, and a single Islander. Enjoy! Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 Oh, and a single Islander. Found him! :pir-skull: Nice decals again Hound Knight! Some brighter pictures would help I think. It would be even cooler if you had used decals for the pirates instead of 5 the same torso's. Quote
