CloneCommanderDelta7 Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 (edited) Hi all, I am trialing a comic of my own design, a design so easy to make I only have to go to someone elses's bedroom. That's right, it's Lego v.s. Action Figures starring a Clone Trooper that we'll name Delta and a blue assassin droid called Banshee. This is their story that I made convieniantly for them. This is a pilot episode so I'll see what you guys think before I make more of them. On one fine day Delta and Banshee met at the grey lego plate after their photo shoot with their weapons (see 'Clone Flamethrower' topic). They were going to have a fight, but were tired of killing each other decided to conquer the rest of the bedroom. The technic bucket lift truck was convieniantly placed right next to them so they hopped into the cab and drove away. Delta said, "Oh my, what is that?!" Banshee said nothing but waited... till Treebeard could reply, "I am no tree, I am an ent!" Banshee said, "We're taking you down, ACTION FIGURE!" Treebeard was too big, bigger than the truck. He used his awesome weight and strength defiantly and tipped the truck. Treebeard tripped over the rock, fell down and was knocked out. Delta and Banshee meanwhile clambered out of the broken window and scampered for safety. They were getting tired to trying to conquer the bedroom and found an ally to whizz them out of the horrid place. But Yoda on his kybuck was too quick, he force puched them over and... That's the cliffhanger, what do you think, should I continue or call it quits? or It's supposed to be messy, its a bedroom warzone! Edited May 17, 2009 by CloneCommanderDelta7 Quote
YG-49 Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 That was random. Yoda rules the bedroom. <--- You heard that from me. Goodbye... *The plot-giver* Quote
Clone OPatra Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 The writing was good, and the idea is ok, but the pics really are too messy. I know you say "it's supposed to be messy," but it comes across (to me anyway) as just a bunch of pics of LEGO and an action figure in a cluttered bedroom. Your idea would be suited much better by pics taken at least on a clean floor without the usual bedroom clutter thrown around. If you do a second installment, I would advise cleaning the floor first. It would help out your idea, which is good. Quote
Brickmaster Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 When I opened this, I thought it was going to be a long topic about why AFOL collectors collect Lego Mini figures, rather than Star Wars action figures, perhaps measuring the pro's and con's of both. I was wrong. Quote
ADHO15 Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Good ideas, but I agree with what's been said already. I think it would be better to have a clear area to 'film' in first. Also, I'm not sure why they ride technic vehicles rather than Star Wars ones, but I guess that adds to the craziness of the comic. I look forward to seeing the next one. Quote
CloneCommanderDelta7 Posted May 17, 2009 Author Posted May 17, 2009 (edited) Okay, I'll make a new comic sometime soon and we'll see what you all say then. Thanks for all the constructive critism. P.S. ADHO15, They ride technic trucks because of the technicality an functionality. Also they ride in them because they want to and a truck was the only thing treebeard could lift while standing up. Oh you do know that wasn't my bedroom, mine has bad lighting. Edited May 17, 2009 by CloneCommanderDelta7 Quote
def Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 I don't mind the bedroom clutter. This is not high art, it's fun. It makes me think of Toy Story. This is supposed to be Lego vs. action figures, right? Not some Lego simulation. Seeing your pics, with Lord of the Rings (?) figures, it takes me back, but I was at least 15 years too late for those toys... I was all about Star Wars and Transformers. But seeing junk spread on the floor made me feel young. Anyway, you're really creative in your concept, and as long as you're having a good time, I think the product will be alright. Be yourself. darkrebellion Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Really cool . I like the comic and I really laugh at the part of Treebeard vs Technic . I don´t mind the mess as you said it is supposed to be like that but you can organize a little more your next comic location . Quote
A_Town Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 I have a feeling this isn't an AFOL's bedroom The idea for the comic is good, but it feels like something is missing. Quote
Legoking Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Its kind of random. Suggestion: Next time you take pictures, try to have a better background. LegoKing Quote
