Dadster Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 I agree there is a slightly better chance of seeing Spidey in Lego MF form again due to the Marvel/ Disney merger. It would be awesome to get other characters such as Iron man, Capt America, Scorpion, Venom, etc, but all we can do is hope... Quote
Big Cam Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 A better chance than before , YES A chance of actually happening , NO Quote

Joebot Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 I don't how you guys see that Spider-Man has any higher chance of returning just because Disney bought Marvel. Marvel is still Marvel. Lego would still have to make a deal with Marvel, not Disney, when getting the license. Take a look at the site. "All contents „ and © 2009 Marvel Characters, Inc."Also because there is a Disney license, does not gaurantee anything else. Currently the Disney license entails Prince of Persia, Toy Story, and Cars. Lets take Batman as an example, since he is in the same chair as Spider-Man and every other Marvel character. When Lego made the deal for the Batman license, it wasn't with Warner Bros, it was with DC Comics, despite the fact that Warner Bros owns DC just as Disney owns Marvel. Plus I'm still sure that MB still holds the Marvel license. -Omi Plus there's the fact that the original Spider Man license wasn't even with Marvel. Lego's license was with Sony Pictures, the movie studio that made the Spidey movies. So, the Disney / Marvel acquisition probably won't have much impact on anything. That's not to say that I wouldn't welcome more Spidey Lego sets. Or X-Men or Avengers or Iron Man or any other Marvel character either! Quote
Batbrick Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 That's not to say that I wouldn't welcome more Spidey Lego sets. Or X-Men or Avengers or Iron Man or any other Marvel character either! Yeah, if we are to get Marvel over DC, I'd much prefer to veer away from Spidey and get the X-Men or Avengers. For one we would get some fantastic figures which I could use on a variety of figs, and then there'd be the fans of the characters too. There could also be Deadpool. Y'know, not that crappy one from the movie Batbrick Away! Quote
Brad-The-Brick Posted November 4, 2009 Author Posted November 4, 2009 Think, we never thought we'd see another lego harry potter set, did we? Quote

bamaker Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 If LEGO were to bring back Spider-Man, I'd prefer it be part of an entire Marvel line, rather than just the ol' webhead. I thought the Spider-Man sets were too limited by only focusing on one small corner of the Marvel Universe. If LEGO were to branch out from just Spider-Man, we could have: X-Men: the SR-71 Blackbird the Danger Room vs Sentinel vs Savage Land dinos Magneto's volcano base Wolverine: Logan & motorcycle Weapon X laboratory the Hand battlepack Fantastic Four: the Fantasti-Car vs Galactus Dr. Doom's castle Avengers: Quinjet Shield Helicarrier Captain America/Fighter Plane Thor/Asgard Castle Hydra battlepack Hulk: vs tank transformation set Army battlepack and still bring back Spider-Man: since he's in NYC, just have a lot of City type sets battle on the bus, battle at the restaurant, battle at the firehouse, etc... There's enough there for 2-3 years of sets. I'm sure the folks paid to think up sets could come up with a ton more. Quote
Brad-The-Brick Posted November 6, 2009 Author Posted November 6, 2009 And we aren't currently. Point?-Omi Lego hinted at it with the anouncement of the video game. Quote
Omicron Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 Lego hinted at it with the anouncement of the video game. Hints can become huge misconceptions, and even right now that is currently a debate. Unless they come out and say "there will be or maybe HP sets in the near future to go along with the HP game", then everything else can only be taken like a grain of salt unless you have sufficient evidence to back it up. -Omi Quote
Batbrick Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 Since when did the X-Men have an SR-71 Blackbird? Never mind that this would be enormously impractable, stupid and money wasting, because it is so cool! Batbrick Away! Quote
bamaker Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 I haven't read an X-Men comic in awhile, but back in the 1980s the Blackbird was a staple of the X-Men comics. Clicky Quote

Batbrick Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 Exuse me, but I believe that this was a discussion for lego spiderman, not marvel in general. But if we are, I'd love to see how lego makes wolverine's claws. True, but maybe it'd be better to encompass a bot of Marvel and spidey in the same topic, rather than making an entirely new one? In keeping with that proposal, if TLC were to somehow get the Spidey license back, I'd love to see Hob Goblin, Venom, Mysterio and Tombstone. The last of which has piqued my interest since Spectacular Spiderman, and Mysterio is just made of all kinds of awesome, especially the show's running gag that every single time they take him in it's another robot copy. Batbrick Away! Quote
angel1802 Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 Well, there won't be a Spider-man as planned... Sony fired Sam Raimi... And you know what guys ? They're Rebooting the Franchise ^^ Aaaaaah Sony. They're supposed to reboot it for 2012, so i don't think we can expect anything before that IF Lego get the license for it ! Voilà Quote

Voilà Sony didn't just fire Sam Raimi. They fired Tobey Macguire as well. They are completely rebooting it; and gonna cast a younger actor to play peter parker. Quote
CF Mitch Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 Whoah, really? Does this mean for Spidey 4 as well, or will Tobey MacGuire still star in that one? And this other reboot... that was about X-Men, right? I heard about that. I believe they want to make it somewhat like the X-Men: Evolution series. Where they are still at school. Sounds kinda interesting to me Greetings, CF W Quote

Apparently directed by B.Singer. Quote
BlueDragonZ Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Heres my opinion : I Don't think spiderman will come back to "LEGO" form as I belive MegaBloks holds the license. Quote
Dadster Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 I don't know all the ins-and-outs of licensing, but if Marvel was smart, they'd tie-in and new Spidey movie to the current Iron Man, Hulk, (coming) IM2, Thor, Cap, and Avengers movies. Now, as far as Spidey Lego coming back, its def possible. Probable? Maybe not yet... But between Marvel, Lego and Disney - I really think the possibilities are endless and potentially very successful. I hope, the powers-that-be will at least explore the idea of new sets whether or not they are based on movies, or comic books, or even the newspaper strip!! Quote
Darth Legolas Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 I don't think so. Harry Potter was one of, if not the only licensed theme Lego ever brought/will bring back. Harry Potter is, of course, a huge cash cow, and (good) movies are still to come. I personally saw Spiderman 3 as the worst movie of the year, and you know, let mega have it. The reviews were awful too, and kids just don't like it anymore. Lego can't make any money off of it. Wait... Disney was brought back... but that's different. Quote
LegoLyons Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 I think i am right in thinking that Disney now own Marvel, who obviously created Spiderman, and what with Disney's tie-ins with LEGO this year, I'd say its not a bad bet that we might see spidey in LEGO form soon. I personally hope not, as I have a full set of ALL Spidey LEGO sets, and they keep on rising in price. As for Meg@b*cks having the licence, I would of thought that, that will no longer stand, now Marvel have sold out to Disney. Quote
Brad-The-Brick Posted January 17, 2010 Author Posted January 17, 2010 Spiderman 4 got canned! But they are making a new film. I move simular to the revival of batman films. Quote

If MB wants to renew the license, all they have to do is talk to either Sony Pictures (cuz its Spiderman 3) or talk to Marvel. -Omi Quote
