woody64 Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I plan to finish my 9th mold during the next week. Here is a preview of the current items. I will add 2 or 3 during the next days. Currently the new items are: - Brodie Helmet - Easy Rider Biker Helmet - M1 Pot - Grenadier shako (update) Suggestions are welcome ... Woody64 Quote
tedbeard Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 (edited) Yikes! I don't know if it is the angle or lighting but the Brodie helmet looks more like a bowler hat than a helmet. It should not have a hat band and the rim seems to be wrong. It looks like it flares upwards too much at the bottom. Back to the drawing board on that one I am afraid. Now that I look again the M1 seems to have a hat band as well. Is this some sort of digital image problem or are your trying to create this effect? Love the French helmet BTW (although it may need a little more neckguard at the back.) Edited April 24, 2009 by tedbeard Quote

Love the French helmet BTW (although it may need a little more neckguard at the back.) The hat bands are digital problems since that are the border of two objects. In the real object these effects aren't visible. That's another view of the brodie ... (maybe the rim has to be adapted, let's take a look on the picture below and give a comment) With neckguard (french) you mean the rim should get some other angle? Woody64 Quote
Cardinal Brick Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Woody why do you have to keep producing so many items when I have no money! The Grenadier shako is great though painting it might be a bit hard as didn't they tend to have a complex pattern. The best of the bunch in my opinion in the Adrian which looks a perfect representation in my opnion. Quote

the enigma that is badger Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 (edited) Interesting work! The historical helmets are certainly something folks haven't seen before, and they're great for any number of Napoleonic-flavored figs Cause im getting those Tommies since Brickarms have let me down again Just to be clear, BrickArms will be producing the BrickArms version of the Brodie Helmet. I realize it's been a bit of time since Will first unveiled the prototype for that accessory, but headgear is even more expensive and costly to produce than regular weapons, not to mention a new direction of design for Will. It's still probably a bit of time off due to other projects Will is currently pursuing but especially with the the loss of the M1 Helmet provider, Will does plan to produce several of his own helmets in the future and in a variety of colors. That said, if you want to add a Brodie helmet to your collection now, I think woody has done some great work here and those items would be a great way to equip your Tommies today.
