The Legonater Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 I think those named clones only have a 1 episode lifespan. And was that Ashoka on Dagobah at the beginning of the preview?!?! Hopefully Dave Filloni will shine some more light on this matter during Celebration V... I believ it was- everyone seems to end up there eventually. Quote
DarthSion Posted May 5, 2010 Author Posted May 5, 2010 Not this again, why must there be the constant Ashoka's death, you people really think they going to kill off a main character, yet alone a young girl character, yet alone a kid on a kids show. Quote
FilmGirl27 Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Miraculusly, I am able to watch the trailer. This looks great! Some good...Kamino! What is this, the fourth clone wars Kamino battle? I believe I saw Kashyyyk or Salucumi! Shaak Ti! Yay! New clone- possibly commando! Cad Bane! Yeah, it does look fairly promising! I like how they seem to be matching Ahsoka and Anakin to the extreme now! She's getting visions.... Oooohhh... I hope we get more of Wolffe, he's one of my favorite clones. I wish we'd see the return of Echo and Fives, they were great. Salucumi! Salami or cucumber anyone? Atleast the trailer mentioned that Ashoka was dreaming of her death. :D I'm dreaming of it too! Haha only kidding I'm not mean enough to want to see the death of a little girl on a kids show...am I? :skull: Quote
Corvus Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 I'm fairly positive they won't kill Ahsoka yet. We know they'll have to, for continuity. Oh, wait, what continuity? I'm hoping that, based on the preview, we'll be able to see some real character development for her. She's actually not that bad of a character, in my opinion- much better than Anakin. I'm hoping we'll se Wulffe again, too. Plo's troopers have the coolest designs of the lot, and I'm curious to see Wulffe's cybernetic eye that we saw in the hologram. Quote

Professor Flitwick Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 I actually hope they keep her too. I hope to be a Star Wars author eventually, and then I can kill her myself . Is Jar-Jar still alive in the EU? If yes, then you could kill two birds with one stone! Quote
CheeseyWob Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 @ The Person who ranted about me mentioning Ashokas death; The TRAILER had ASHOKA dreaming about HER OWN death, so why the heck are you moaning at me!? Also; it's hardly a kids show! A kids show with the words 'War' in the title?! Guns?! Soldiers? The Original Clone Wars was a kids show, but this is slightly more Epic. Rant Over. Quote

Professor Flitwick Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 I actually like Jar Jar- never understood all the anti-Jar Jar hype. I guess I just assumed, seeing as it's practically second nature or a Star Wars fan to hate Jar-Jar. Quote

I kind of think it's a bit the opposite, the old one was really dark at some points, with a lot of emotion especially when it went to volume II, just my opinion though Quote

Corvus Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Truthfully, I found the original series lame in so many levels. I think this one is better, animatically, emotionally, and on almsot every level. I disagree. I feel that the old series was much more steady. This CW is well... turbulent. It has it's major ups and downs, in my opinion. I think the old series was highly artistic, and some characters had a 'cool factor', like the ARCs, that the characters in the new series can never have- because of those ups and downs. According to Wikipedia, in 2008 IGN listed The Clone Wars as the 89th (out of 100) greatest animated series of all time. In comparison, the original Clone Wars series was ranked 21st (out of 100). Makes me wonder if that ranking might've been higher if IGN had seen season 2.... I think we ought to move this to the other Season 2 thread, although there's not much need for this one anymore. I kind of wish they bring Fordo into the new series, he was awesome. Quote
Forresto Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 So when will we start a season 3 thread? I would assume during the trailer's big debut at the Sandiago comic-con like last year. BTW when is it? Quote
hollisbrick Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Holy crap. Aurra shot Commander Ponds. Aaargh! I'm not sure what to think about the finale. This is the best it's been- and it's also the worse. I'll put my pros and cons in: Pros: The scenery in this episode was the best of any episode so far. The wreckage of the Venator looked like something we'd see in the concept art of Raxus Prime in Force Unleashed. This was the darkest we've seen. The dead troopers were a good touch. Aura shooting Ponds and then dumping his body out the airlock was pretty creepy. I liked the nightclub scene at the lower levels of Coruscant. Very seedy. The dialogue between the civilians was a good touch while Ahsoka was listening in. I liked Plo's line- "We are justice." Cons This has violated so many things stories from the EU. For example- they rigged Jango's helmet to blow on the bridge. I first figured that Boba had got his hands on some abandoned Mando helmet, but nope- Jango's helmet went bye-bye. I really doubt that Boba would dump it easily. ARGH. How could they destroy Slave 1?! That's absolutely pathetic- just so Aurra could die. Boba's supposed to have that ship (or at least the pilot's seat...) for the rest of his life. I think they've really ruined Boba's character. He's lost the two most iconic heirlooms from his father- and now he's in prison on Coruscant with Bossk! This is, of course, directly after he'd told Mace Windu that he was a bad little boy. They'd better continue on with him in Season 3- it's rediculous to think that they'd leave him as some soft little kid. (relatively speaking, of course- 'soft' is relative to what he ends up as when he's older) This is exactly how I feel. They've completely destroyed Boba Fett at the end! And the Slave 1 explodes???? What the Hell were the writers thinking. The books that were based on Boba Fett were MUCH better! Quote
Oky Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 (edited) @ The Person who ranted about me mentioning Ashokas death; The TRAILER had ASHOKA dreaming about HER OWN death, so why the heck are you moaning at me!? Maybe because the trailer doesn't actually show or mention any death. Oh, and here is a good advice for the future: Don't take DarthSion too seriously. The admins never do. His title "The Respectful One" is meant to be ironic. Also; it's hardly a kids show! A kids show with the words 'War' in the title?! Guns?! Soldiers? The Original Clone Wars was a kids show, but this is slightly more Epic. Uhm, excuse me? The only word that was missing from the title of the original series was a "the", and it had a way higher body count than the new one. There, Assajj Ventress and Grievous were killing people left and right, including Jedi and other great warriors. Who did Ventress kill in the new show? One clone and one Senate Commando. Grievous? One stupid, young Jedi knight and a junk trader. In the original, they even actually showed clones' heads getting crushed. When somebody dies in the new show, it's only shown for a split second. So, if anything, it's the new show that is a kids show. But to be fair, they were both aimed at a younger audience. The webcomic has been concluded now as well, and it was great! I didn't see that last part coming. If only the TV show would have the quality of these comics... Edited May 10, 2010 by Oky Wan Kenobi Quote

CF Mitch Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Hey, Does anyone know when Season 2 will show up on DVD (in Holland, region 2)? 'Cause so far I can't seem to find any info on it Thanks to anyone who can tell me anything about it. Regards, CF W Quote
DarthSion Posted May 24, 2010 Author Posted May 24, 2010 Given it just finished airing in the USA im guessing not for some time, and given season 1 released in R1 R2 and R4 in November last year i would say around the same time for season 2 about a month after season 3 will air in the US. Quote
CF Mitch Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Hm, I was afraid of that. It's the same with Smallville (amongst others) I suppose. Well thanks anyway Regards, CF W Quote
The Legonater Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 As I've said before, Season 2 is liekely to be released in October/ September, like mot of the series. Quote

Sorry, I'm a bit of a box art nut- I really want to know what it is I'm looking for, no matter what. It appears as though we're getting some obvious bonus material here, not just secret cookies. Unless, of course, this bonus material is secret cookies... Quote
sok117 Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 I really like the new box, the colours are supreme, wonder who will be on the dvds? Quote
The Legonater Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 I really like the new box, the colours are supreme, wonder who will be on the dvds? I'm guessing Jedi- last year Cody was on the box, and the discs had clones. Some guesses are Ani, Ashoka, Obi and Mace. Possbile Plo, Yoda, Ki-Adi, Luminara, Ofee, or one of the other jedi who appeared in this season. Quote
