Commodore Hornbricker Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Has anyone out there converted any of the Governor's torso's into French troops? Do you think the torso works well for this purpose? Are there any other torso (other than the traditional bluecoats) that work well for French troops? Thanks Quote
Guss Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 I think it works well, but you'll need a lot of commander, it surely will be hard to find ! Quote
SWMAN Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Now that I look at the torso, it probably would work for the French. Quote
michaelozzie Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 Hey Hornbricker I have been using these Dark Blue torsos on my Napoleonic troops for my latest creations. Im actually using the airline pilot torsos and just applying decals. Quote

General Armendariz Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 Hey Hornbricker I have been using these Dark Blue torsos on my Napoleonic troops for my latest creations. Im actually using the airline pilot torsos and just applying decals.-Snip- michaelozzie, welcome to EB! and your MOC already looks great! Back on topic now. I personally think that it definetly could not, Looks way to much like an Admiral/Governer for the redcoats. And you know the British troops actually haveBlue coated Admirals. Quote
martinsuper Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 I think it would work, but not for the average trooper. It would look good for officers maybe? I have been using the new torso with my blue coats as their governor. It just didn't make sense to me to have him with the red coats. Quote
Commodore Hornbricker Posted April 21, 2009 Author Posted April 21, 2009 Michael - Great torso design. I love them. Quote
Hound Knight Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 Are you looking for an official torso or a decal? Quote
Commodore Hornbricker Posted April 21, 2009 Author Posted April 21, 2009 Original as I've no experience with making decals. Quote
Hound Knight Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 Original as I've no experience with making decals. I could draw some for you if you'd like. Quote
Commodore Hornbricker Posted April 21, 2009 Author Posted April 21, 2009 That would nice. How do you print them? Quote
Hound Knight Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 That would nice. How do you print them? It depends on whether you want torso wraps, like my Captain Hornblower, or just torso stickers. Quote
General Armendariz Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 (edited) How do you put the torsos on sticker paper? I need custom decals! Edited April 22, 2009 by General Armendariz Quote
Hound Knight Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 How do you put the torsos on sticker paper? I need custom decals! You can buy full-sheet mailing labels at office supply stores, that's what I use. If you want me to design anything for you just say so. Quote
Commodore Hornbricker Posted April 22, 2009 Author Posted April 22, 2009 (edited) I'd like to do a few in the wrap style and copy your Hornblower figure. Then do a bunch of nice looking French Troops. Here's a follow up question on the Governor torso. It seems a little dressy to me as well to be a common soldier so what if the torso was used to represent French naval officers? Edited April 22, 2009 by Commodore Hornbricker Quote
Hound Knight Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 Here are a couple are there any other designs you would like? Quote
Commodore Hornbricker Posted April 22, 2009 Author Posted April 22, 2009 Those are great. Thanks. Let me play around with these and see if I can make them work with the printing, etc. How do you get the printed size correct? If I can I might like some spanish military! Thanks again Quote

Thanks again They should print out the right size as is, but if they don't I'll try to figure out why. Quote
Commodore Hornbricker Posted April 22, 2009 Author Posted April 22, 2009 Yes they print out very large when I print them. A little more than half a page in size. Quote
Hound Knight Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 (edited) Oh dear. I'll go see what I can do about it. EDIT: I've replaced the files with smaller ones, see how that works. Edited April 22, 2009 by Hound Knight Quote
Commodore Hornbricker Posted April 23, 2009 Author Posted April 23, 2009 Alright. These look like they will be close to the right size. I'll have to grab some of those lable sheets today and then see what I can do. I'll let you know how I am doing and I'll post a picture if I can get one together. Thanks again! Quote

As of recently, I use a Scotch Double Stick Adhesive Roller, so I can apply the stickyness to only selected parts of a sheet. Quote
