I have been working on and off on this one for a while but I thought I might share a few things that I have actually built for the Port of Brick Royal. Government House was inspired by the building from the new Town Plan set. It is more than twice as tall and twice as deap. It will eventually find its home at the center of the port. The exterior still requires some work and finishing touches. The interior is still completely empty but will include the office and living quarters of the Governor and his family.

Background is too dark in the picture. sorry

A better view

It looks great! :pir-wub:

It's got a colonial feel, without any of the palm trees/sea e.t.c. - a difficult task, well executed!

The colour scheme is actually well accentuated by the background, in my opinion - bar the bit of wall over the top of the sofa, it looks like a deliberate background; I like!

What's the "poster" thing supposed to be? (1x4x3 panel)

It's nice to see how Town can be adapted into Pirates too

Not only is the unique use of the Town Hall from Town Plan clever, but the fact that you chose to put landscaping around it really added to the creation! The lamp-posts, by the way, are simply outstanding!

My only gripe is the mixup of colors and flags - I think that you should stick to one flag color scheme to keep the government's nationality certain. IMO, the blue flags work better with the green, since the red ones make it feel too Christmasy.

Other than that, keep up the good work!

What a unique idea!

It's fascinating how well that Town Plan building fits into the pirate theme. I love the additions to the building that you've made. It would make a fun Cafe Corner style building in this form.

Great work, and I hope to see more from you here!

Thanks everyone. Good call on the flags. I just love them both so much it is hard to pick one. Like having two kids. When I saw the Town Plan set for the first time it just hit me what that building ought to be and look like. The fountain with the gold 2x2 that is in that set will also have a place out infront of Government House. There will be a big open town square in front of government house where troops can parade, etc.

This is my favorite building even though the East India Building was a huge work and also a favorite.

I am currently working on midieval Village Market sets right now. I have five sets put together in their original form and trying ti figure out how I can rework some of them into larger modular versions.

A bank and a government house have both a distinguished feel over it, as it should be! Commodore Hornbricker has done a nice job making this MOC. I don't know about the flags, the blue large flag looks out of place to me.

The signpost outside has a slightly too modern look, perhaps make it in brown would be better.

Overall I really like the coloursheme and the shapes of the building, it has a real 18 century architecture feeling over it.

Great job, and I cannot wait to see the whole town assembled! :pir-blush:

It's got a colonial feel and the colour use is nice...

Although some things are IMO a little weird in comparison with historical correctness , like the 1x4x3 panel.

Not that I can't be used but the design is maybe too modern. But over all great build.

I've been holding out hope that I can make a custom sticker for the sign post that says Government House Port of Brick Royal...but I don't know a thing about making stickers.

You have to use this.
