Matn Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 Flickr member Legohaulic has created a fantastic Western town. There is a saloon, a sheriff's office, a stable, a bank and a general store. He even included the people who live there. It's great. The self-made stickers really add something to it, and there are some nice details added in every building. It looks like an evolution of the real LEGO Western sets, doesn't it? I really like this LEGO Western town, it's so good. On of the best Western creations I've seen. Quote
Etzel Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 Magnificent! I love all the great details and fantastic techniques. Just for example, the vulture in this picture Clicky Brilliant! Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 This is one of the best WW creations that I've seen. I'm really impressed with the entire town. I'd LOVE to see Lego offer an official set along this line. This was blogged a few days ago on Classic Town and then on Brothers Brick. It's fantastic! Quote
Basiliscus Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 Beautifully detailed. Although, if my memory serves me correctly the signs were photoshopped on afterwards, rather than stickers. This is probably one of the best Western MOCs I've ever seen! Quote
Matn Posted April 9, 2009 Author Posted April 9, 2009 Jup, I've also noticed they are photoshopped on other images, but they look very good. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 Thanks for showing us this great find, Matn! These are really awesome Wild West MOCs! I really them! The only thing I don't like is the stagecoach: - I don't like the color - red would fit much better - it looks too much brick-built Otherwise these MOCs are perfect: + the houses are designed absolutely realsitic + the interiors are amazingly detailed + the combination of different buildings is great: already existing and important buildings (like sheriff's office, bank and general store) and totally new (meaning never by TLG in minifig scale released) buildings (like depot and saloon) Very, very well done! These combination of buildings plus the stage coach would be the perfect set (of course not with that big and highly detailed buildings) for TLG to get people interested in a new Wild West theme or in Western in general and would offer those "old" WW fans under us some of these buildings for which we have been waiting for more than ten years now! I really hope that TLG will release a set similar to these awesome MOCs in the near future, too! Klaus-Dieter Quote
Asuka Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 A very beautiful and elaborate work. The buildings ´re very neat in size and detail, and the MF characters´re great, even if they´re in flesh. Quote
General Armendariz Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 Amazing! LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!! Quote
Commander Flash Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 Nice! Very good techniques and designing. I love the guy in front of the store Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 Very, very good creation. The buildings are really nice, their interior too! Wonderful furniture and details everywhere. The citizens look great as well with their coats. The stagecoach is a masterpiece. The stickers are a very nice touch and flourish the buildings up! Quote
alex12 Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 This is stunning. Lego should look into doing more western themed stuff. Although with all the other themes out there i can't see it happening. Quote
BlueBard Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 Just perfect, so fully detailed and with great MFs! Now I remember why I used to love WW sets... Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 (edited) This is stunning. Lego should look into doing more western themed stuff. Although with all the other themes out there i can't see it happening. Why not, alex12?! I mean: In the last years there have been always about three new themes a year. And there are always similar themes like e. g. PowerMiners and SpacePolice which belong to sci-fiction or e. g. Pirates and "Castle" which belong to "historical" themes. It's not unlikely that - after we have seen the pic of the board game with these Greek/Spartan characters that we'll see a Greek/Spartan theme next year. But why should this be a reason for that TLG won't offer a new Western theme to us in the next years, too?! It can't be denied that in the first part of this decade the interest in WW was not very high. But only look at these many WW creations which are shown at the moment here on EB (and which aren't all built by myself ) and the many people which are interested in them - plus many people wrote in a topic of the News & General Discussions subforum that they'd like to see a comeback of WW. So it would be stupid not only for us Lego Western fans but even for TLG itself if TLG doesn't release a new WW theme in the next years because of two reasons: 1. TLG gives away a lot of profit since there are a lot of WW fans which would like to buy some new Western sets. 2. The popularity of TLG decreases since their customers don't get what they want - namely new Western sets - and are consequently disappointed and discontent. So I'd say it's only a question of time when a new Western theme comes up - but I bet that there'll be one at the latest in 2012 - or at least I hope so. Captain Green Hair Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Wow, amazing work indeed! Looks very authentic, and the scale of the layout is very nice as well. My favourite part is the coach, very impressive. Thanks for sharing Sherrif! Quote
