Joey Lock Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Where is a good place to buy Lego Pirates in the UK? In Sutton Highstreet they used to have gamelys, but that closed down. They used to have Woolworths, Gone bust. Argos do not have them in on there website, so proberbly not in store. Toysrus only have the main sets, no smaller sets or Impulse. Also the Lego Store in Kingston closed down. So where now?

Ralph_S Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 (edited) I agree that most stores in the UK don't seem to have a lot of LEGO. Where I live we do have a John Lewis and they tend to have quite a few sets. Toys r Us usually isn't all that bad either. If you're in Surrey, both the big shop in Legoland Windsor and the Lego Store in Bluewater aren't all that far away either. I actually buy most of my Lego on-line nowadays, through shop@home and amazon. Cheers, Ralph Edited April 9, 2009 by Ralph_S
brickbitz Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 I have to second Ralph's opinion. Online is the way to go these days. My only local toyshop has none of the Pirates line at all and not a lot else, only a couple of large Star Wars, a handful of new City and some old Mars Mission If you save up to buy the sets in a single order every few months then S@H is the only place your likely to find everything you want. Although delivery is about £5 it's probably cheaper than driving around to visit different locations. My nearest Toys R Us is a 40 minute drive and they often don't have what I'm looking for. True it does take the fun out of impulse buying, but thats the price you pay in this modern internet shopping age.
Derfel Cadarn Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 I live on the border of surrey and kent, and toys r us is really the only place to go apart from the lego store at windsor or bluewater. Online is the way to go these days as you can get mostly everything your looking for. Just have to wait for delivery though! I remember when there were loads of shops, gamleys, toystack, beatties, and woolworths used to have a huge lego display.
