WetWired Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 (edited) Introducing "FRANK" Fire, Rescue Android, Revision NK. The third creation in my series of profession based bots Like "MA-X" and "EARL" He's fully articulated at the head, shoulders, elbows, hands, fingers, waist, legs, knees and feet. Frank to the Rescue! Frank helping the community. I might enter him into the civilian mecha comp, not sure yet. I might try something else smaller and in a different style, possibly even a small manned mech. This is actually the second attempt I made at a firebot, my original design was more based around the colour scheme of a fire truck than a suited fireman, I wasn't very happy with the way the red and white was working and I ended up aborting the whole design. A few months later after ordering some more pieces (I don't have many yellow parts :( ) I've finally finished him in a way I'm happy with. As you can see though I keep the main style throughout my bots, the same eyes, similar structure. I do this purposefully, for one I'm attempting to do something friendly and a bit fun, not taking it all too seriously, and secondly I wanted to get the feel that these robots were all constructed by one company and would all fit in well with each other. Anyway here's the early prototype for those who are interested, he looks a bit too much like santa claus, some perhaps towards christmas you might see something similar in shape and colours from me :) For the full set of photos check out my flickr set for Frank here Edited April 5, 2009 by WetWired Quote
AwesomeStar Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Teehee, this is really clever, and funny too. I like the construction you got going on there, and the cat in a tree photo is just hilarious. Thank you for starting my morning with a smile Lovin' these 'bots! ~A.S. Quote
Natman8000 Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Looks super! I love how you made him look heavy! Quote
Guss Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 excellent, really really amazing! I love your bot series! will you make a pictures of all of them together ? Quote
Asuka Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 A beautiful MOC! The design´s clever and very fitting, the nozzle and ladder´re very handy and the the fire extinguisher backpack looks great. The color scheme and the three shiny dishes on the torso looks wonderful, but maybe a light for the helmet could work better. The picture with the MF firefighter on the ladder´s simply brilliant. Your prototype, beside his pretty cool resemblance to Santa, looks very interesting too, especially that fine silvery gadget on his arm. Quote
LuxorV Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Great job as always, WetWired I was wondering how came I didn't see new Bot Series MOCs from you recently They both (new and prototype versions) really catch the Firefighter image, even if in quite different ways. While the V.2 is indeed fitting with the actual LEGO style for FF, the prototype reminds me of the good old days of my childhood, when the toons' FF wore those red uniforms and black boots and had lots of shiny metal items with them (for some reason, now I can't get an image of Goofy in a FF uniform out of my head ). WetWired Posted April 5, 2009 Author Posted April 5, 2009 excellent, really really amazing! I love your bot series! will you make a pictures of all of them together ? Unfortunately I don't have enough pieces to keep them all intact, I have to pull apart each one so I have enough pieces to make the next one, I did order a lot more ball joints so I "might" be able to build more than one at a time now, but no more than 2 at a time I think, and that's only providing the bots are using different colours than each other.
