commdr_neyo Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 what is the best program to make decals? I make mine with Paint.net but are there any other free and good programs for making decals? which do you use? Quote
LuxorV Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 I'm sorry I can't give you personal insight on any of them, but I have been told that there are some quite good free programs. For example, Paint.net (I see you already know this, but it might interest some other EBers ) and Gimp (actually, one of my colleques at work uses it; I saw it once and doesn't seem too user-friendly to me, but maybe you just need to get accuasomed to its interface ) are both non-vector programs; Serif Draw Plus 4.0 I don't know if it is vectorial or not. Personally, I use mainly CorelDraw (version 9.0 seems to be the best one, not yet complicated as the latest releases) and to a lesser extent Photoshop (allows you to apply filters and other options that are not present in Corel, but it is seldom needed for most of standard-style decals). In the end, whatever you end using, the best option for this kind of graphic job is a vectorial program, which allows you to change the lines without having to totally re-draw them Hope this helps LuxorV Quote
Adam Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 I reccomend Photoshop - it's the most expensive, but it's also the best. Quote
Quarryman Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Another option is Inkscape, a free and open source vector graphics editor. I guess you should just try out some different programs and find whichever suits your needs best Quote
