While searching for "Lego Merry-go-round" I found following awesome MOC (or preliminary set?):

Merry-go-round

Isn't that totally awesome?!

Do you think that it is a MOC or an official set?

Although I really hope that TLG will offer some folk festival sets  within the City theme to us (and a merry-go-round and a Ferris wheel would be totally awesome!) I hope that we\'ll never get that a huge set - what do you think it would cost?! :oh::angry:

It's not a prelim. It's using lifelites and he shows in his folder how he built it. It is quite an amazing MOC. Wow, wouldn't that be cool though if TLG did release a working Carousel this year? :look:

A nice find and a sweet and impressive work.

The lights´re a fine touch and it even seems like it actually goes around indeed with

that neat gear work and the motor. A fantastic joyride for every MF for sure! :sweet:

While it's not a set, it certainly is impressive. Thanks for posting this Klaus. I don't have the pieces to make anything quite so huge or operational, but it does make me want to try for something similar...

That would be an amazing set, but sadly not from TLC!

I always love creations with 'Lifelits', and this is one of the attractives ever.

So thanks for that find :classic:

Thanks for the praise for the Merry-Go-Round, it was a pain to build, since I built it going over a timespan of 2 years

Lets just say it cost too much, but what large MOC doesnt? The lighting by itself cost $400-$500 since theres 130 lights on there, plus at 29000+ parts you would never see a LEGO set like that from TLG

And for you to get the grasp on the size, the base of it is 3ft x 3ft

Yeah it does go around, just that when i took all these videos and pics it was havin trouble up until after BrickFair 2008, I fixed it and now it has no problems spinning/horses going up and down, I just need to get a new video uploaded, along with pictures of the mods I did to fix it, since i switch from mindstorms motors to power functions motors to run it since i can run those off the 9V train regulator

Honestly, I didnt have the parts either, thats what Bricklink and Pick-A-Brick walls are good for, but go for it, I would love to see other amusement rides carried out as nicely as my Merry-Go-Round
