languages Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 Today I recieved an order but one of the major parts was missing....What should I do?
jonfett Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 How much was the part and how big? Is it easy for the seller to have forgotten to include it or for it to have gotten lost at their end? I would recommend contacting the seller through BL or if you have their email address, this has happened to me a few times (although only minor pieces) and sellers are always happy to send the missing piece, even free of charge! :-D Make sure you contact them straight away as if you wait too long after the order has been sent it may become suspicious for the seller. If they don't reply you can send them an alert through BL and if all that fails then post a message in the BL forum, as the guys usually know what they are doing! ;) Hope this helps! :) Jon.
languages Posted November 1, 2005 Author Posted November 1, 2005 Thanks jon...I contacted the seller and hes sending out the piece.
jonfett Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 Problem solved! ;) Just out of interest, what was the piece and the price of it? I just want to see if it was a fairly big part they missed out.. seems odd if it was *wacko* At least its on its way now though! Jon.
languages Posted November 1, 2005 Author Posted November 1, 2005 It was a Lego Studios Vampire (my faviourite lego minifig) costing $5.10..... I really wanted him and I was extremely dissapointed when he wasnt in my order....
jonfett Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 Hmm.. strange how something this big and expensive can be missed out? Maybe the seller had too many orders on their hands and got confused, perhaps someone else has an extra Lego Vampire right now! ;) Jon.
JINZONINGEN73 Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 Out of the measly 8 or so transactions I've done on Bricklink, 3 of them were missing parts. But a quick email later and they sent them out ASAP. That place is a hive of good people. Probably some of the highest positive feedback scores overall on any selling site on the internet.
gylman Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 I have never had a bad bricklink experience (30 or so). The smaller sellers are basically people like us who are trying to clear out their excess Lego, or one day realized that they had outgrown it and needed the money or space for something else. That's OK, more lego for me. The bigger stores are former smaller stores who realized that they could make money from a product they love. Unlike eBay, where most sellers don't care about the product they sell, as long as it sells and their feedback is OK, on Bricklink the sellers tend to be much more approachable, and the pace is more relaxed. On eBay you buy something and the seller usually will send you an invoice in 30 minutes. On Bricklink you can add to the order over the next few days, and its a more pleasant buying experience. I have about 700+ eBay transactions, 95% as a buyer, and about 30 Bricklink transaction, all as a buyer. eBay is usually a better deal money wise, but sometimes Bricklink is the better answer. If I'm gonna give my money to anyone, all other things being even close to equal, I will give it to a fellow lego fan.

'We are currently in progress with a relocation, so your order/s may be missing a few parts. If you are missing a part we will send it to you straight away.' And that is what theyve done, so soon the Vampire will be mine.....
