Mariann Asanuma Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 I made this little model in about 4 hours. I was especially trying to capture the life-like quality in the eyes. It was a fun challenge since I've never built a LEGO bird before. I made it for a fund raising auction that will be held at a local Nature Center this Saturday. Quote
Asuka Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 A very nice work. The eyes´re working fine and the bill looks pretty distinct too. Quote
Raven Brickroft Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Wonderful work Marian! I love the distinct majestic projection that the eagle makes. The second picture captures the eye perfectly. And doing it for charity? That's great! Hope it brings in a considerable amount for the Nature Center. Quote
Guss Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 superb eagle! I love it eyes too, it have a real ... don't know how to say it in English, but it have it ! ^^ Quote
Guss Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 no, I didn't mean that, of course it really looks like an eagle... I meant, a kind of " charisma" that eagle have, this way of looking at it! see what I mean ? ^^ Quote
Darth Legolas Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Aah, the symbol of America! The great (and BALD!) bald eagle! I see it everywhere I go, and the surprising yet disgusting thing I must say is that this is so realistic, it's as if you cut of an eagle head and took pictures. I love this animal, as I have to otherwise I'd be a traitor and shipped off to -country name deleted by author- and you did a great job with this! Quote
Buttons Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 no, I didn't mean that, of course it really looks like an eagle... Corvus Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 Ooh, very nice! I really like the shape of the head. Maybeyou could bulk up the base of the beak, though? If you look at it, it looks a little like a horizontal line. Adding a few bricks to the bottom might help. What nature center is it being donated to? Quote
jifel Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 Very nice, but on the beak, the length is good, but I would make it stick mostly straight out, then, curl down, not one big angle. But still a very nice MoC! jifel Quote
